The league will be under FIDE team rules on Lichess website. The league will be played as Team under two categories: Advance Beginner (6 players/team, 5 Playing & 1 Reserve) and Intermediate (4 players/team, 3 Playing & 1 Reserve).

PRIZE STRUCTURE

 ADVANCED BEGINNER:

1st Team Prize: $300 + certificate
2nd Team Prize: $240 + certificate
3rd Team Prize: $150 + certificate

INTERMEDIATE:

1st Prize: $200 + certificate
2nd Prize: $160 + certificate
3rd Prize: $100 + certificate

* Participation certificate for all players

PRE-REQUISITE

  • Ensure you are using “chrome” browser. Set your Google Chrome Browser as Default Browser (Go to your Control Panel →All Control Panel Items →Default Browsers →Set your default program →Web browser → Google Chrome)
  • Login to Lichess and save password in chrome. So no need to enter password again.
  • Game will be conducted on Zoom & Video On – Laptop/desktop – kindly login from laptop or desktop with video on. If your kid is joining from tablet or iPad, have a secondary device to show the video.
  • Go to your Lichess →Preferences →Game Behaviors →Pre-moves →No and Promote to Queen → Never

 

TOURNAMENT RULES

  • Player can only participate in 1 level (Advanced Beginner or Intermediate) as decided by the coach.
  • Platform: Lichess, Each kid will be using same Lichess id that he/she used in Qualification Round. If in case your id got flagged by Lichess, the kid will be disqualified & the reserve player will be playing the final stage of the league.
  • Rounds: 4 rounds (Swiss League) for Advance Beginners & 4 rounds (Swiss League) for Intermediate
  • Days: 1 day (please refer to the schedule above)
  • Time Control: 10 min + 5 sec increment from move 1
  • Walkover Time: Till the time finish.
  • Tiebreaks: The order of tie-breaks to be used is:
    • Match Points
    • Game points scored by the team in the tournament.
    • Sonneborn Berger (sum of the products of the scores (game or match scores) made by each opposing team and the score (game or match scores) made against that team)
    • Sum of the match points of the opponent teams
    • Sum of the game points of the opponent team
  • Pairings: Pairings will be uploaded to chess-results.com, please find the links below.
    • Advanced Beginners : TBC after qualification round
    • Intermediate: TBC after qualification round
  • Illegal Activities: Taking any help from a book, device, or person is strictly prohibited. If any player found doing so will be disqualified from the event.
  • Zoom Monitoring: 1) Players has to join zoom meeting 10 minutes before start of the round. 2) Players has to keep their video on and audio off, till the end of the round. Video will be recorded to analyze for anti-cheating purposes, keeping the video on is mandatory.
  • Anti-Cheating: Use of external assistance is not allowed. All the games will be thoroughly analyzed for anti-cheating purposes. If any player founds using an engine will be disqualified. If any player found suspicious, Arbiter may take him to separate fair-play room to share screen or to observe camera in more clear way.
  • Disqualification: If any player conceals his identity (different identity) or misbehaves with arbiters, players and organizer will be expelled from the event without any prior notice.
  • Removal from Pairing: In the absence to any round without informing Chief Arbiter in written, the player will not be paired for any further round.
  • Discussion during Game/Analysis: A player may talk only to an Arbiter if any technical issue arises. Analysis or discussion with other players is not allowed in any case.
  • Spectators: Spectators are not allowed in playing arena. Parents, Teachers, Coaches, Managers are all spectators and they are not allowed in playing room.
  • Players will have break of 20 minutes after each round so that they can get fresh themselves and can get ready for next round.
  • A player is allowed to use only one Lichess Account throughout the tenure of the league. If the account get closed/flag red for any reason, the player will not be allowed to participate in further rounds. If players account get banned post the event, the results will be adjusted to forfeit the winning in all the rounds.
