Premier Chess Academy’s Chess for Everyone 2.0 brought together 196 players from seven federations, with Kerala’s young talents producing outstanding performances against a strong international field.
🏆 Chess for Everyone 2.0 – Classical FIDE Rated Tournament
‣Premier Chess Academy is delighted to announce the winners of the Chess for Everyone 2.0 – Classical FIDE Rated Tournament, held from 20–23 August 2026 at Premier Chess Academy, Vazhuthacaud, Trivandrum.
‣The four-day tournament featured 196 players representing Canada, Cuba, FIDE, India, Nepal, Sri Lanka and the United States, competing across eight rounds of Classical chess.
‣The tournament was conducted as an international FIDE-rated event with a time control of 90 minutes plus 30 seconds increment per move.

🔥 Kerala’s Young Players Make Their Mark
🌟 Young Talent, Big Performance
One of the most encouraging aspects of Chess for Everyone 2.0 was the performance of Kerala’s young players against a field containing experienced Grandmasters and International Masters.
★14-year-old Albin Sajan finished an outstanding 4th overall with 6.5 points, immediately followed by
16-year-old Abel Sajan in 5th place, also with 6.5.
★13-year-old Mahadev J S finished 7th overall, while 13-year-old Amanlal A secured 10th place with 6 points.
★9-year-old Devanarayanan Kalliyath finished an exceptional 11th overall with 6/8.
This is precisely the opportunity Chess for Everyone seeks to create — bringing strong titled and international players to Kerala so that developing players can sit across the board from them and gain valuable competitive experience.
The field was headed by GM Petr Kiriakov and included prominent International Masters such as Jorge Marcos Gomez Sanchez of Cuba, Krishnamoorthy Murugan, Anup Deshmukh and Sekhar Chandra Sahu.

At Premier Chess Academy, the purpose of Chess for Everyone goes beyond determining a champion.
We want aspiring chess players — particularly children — to have opportunities to experience serious international-standard competition and play against strong rated and titled players.
The Chief Arbiter’s report described the participation of young players against established international players as one of the notable features of the tournament and highlighted the developmental value it brought to the event.
