At Premier Chess Academy (PCA), our vision is to transform kids into the world of chess & support them along the transition. Each and every kid at PCA deserves a special appreciation but we have shortlisted (selection criteria below) the students. Friendly advise, “for student’s those who didn’t make it through – you will make it one day and for those who are the stars of the month – continue the practice as your bar goes up”.

Here we go to recognize the stars of the month (September 2021) at Premier Chess Academy, Europe!

1. Advaith Balaji

“Ady started playing chess from the age of 7 with his mum and dad. He loves to play when he is in a winning position! Great to see his interest always have an upward trend since then and his eyes lit up just with hearing the word ‘CHESS’. Apart from Chess, Ady is a class Sanskrit sloka teller, profound insects and bugs lover (in school he is called little David Attenborough), key gardener, and flute player. Hardik is a brilliant teacher and Ady has developed a great interest in a short period. Astounding to see his chess skills grow from strength to strength from his first class. This helped Ady not only in chess but to think holistically and strategically. Many thanks for support and encouragement from Hardik in getting Ady to this point and beyond.”

Coach feedback on Advaith :

“Ady is a multi-talented kid. His passion for Chess is commendable and undeterminable. He is always on time and very polite. His calculation abilities are improving every day. He goes in-depth with every position and finds the best way to deal with it. His games involve some of the special tricks and are full of calculations. He not only improves himself but also encourages his batch mates to perform well and thus develops a good environment in class. He respects his opponents and learns from everyone. He is a leader and will be a long-term player in the world of Chess. All thanks goes to his lovely and always supportive parents!”

2. Aarav Rathore

“Aarav is a dynamic and cheerful 8 year old boy from London, UK. He is also very passionate about football and basketball and can play football at any length if not interrupted. He showed great interest in chess when he first started learning to play with his elder brother and they both ended up taking coaching from Siddharth. Over the time Aarav has improved a lot in his games and has shown great improvement on his opening moves and can implement strategies to stay in the game. Thanks to Siddharth for his way of teaching which is quite engaging and inspirational.”

Coach feedback on Aarav :

“Aarav has been extremely consistent in Chess, in class and also in practice sessions. He is one of the kids who does many practice sessions. Quite impressed by him as many of his friends or kids in the European region have a time crunch. He is extremely talented in chess and tries to innovate every time with good calculation and good gameplay. With his consistency, he has a bright future in chess.”

3. Darius Patel

“Darius is a 9 year old, year 4 student from London, UK. He was introduced to the game by his cousin at the age of 6 and has been obsessed ever since. He spends hours every day watching the videos of grandmasters’ past games and studying their techniques and strategies. He loves playing with friends, family, or anyone online and all his requests are now chess-related (see the cap in the photo!). In addition to chess, he plays piano and football. He also enjoys swimming, his scouts group activities, and riding his bike. He’s been with PCA just a couple of months now and his tutor Soumyajit Das has been friendly, engaging, inspiring, and really challenges him. He enjoys his classes a lot and loves the thrill of the tournaments even more. Thank you to PCA for doing such an excellent job with the kids!!!!”

Coach feedback on Darius :

“Darius is a very hardworking kid. He’s very much interested in chess. He always wants to spend more time in the class. He learns from his mistakes. Apart from joining theory class, he solves puzzles and plays multiple games in his free time. I believe he’s gonna play at a very high level soon.”
