At Premier Chess Academy (PCA), our vision is to transform kids into the world of chess & support them along the transition. Each and every kid at PCA deserves a special appreciation but we have shortlisted (selection criteria below) the students. Friendly advise, “for student’s those who didn’t make it through – you will make it one day and for those who are the stars of the month – continue the practice as your bar goes up”.

Here we go to recognize the stars of the month (October 2021) at Premier Chess Academy, Asia Pacific (Australia, Singapore and New Zealand)!

 

1. Bhavya Srivastava

“Bhavya is a smiling and social boy who enjoys being engaged all the time. He is in year 2 and lives in Sydney. He loves to play soccer, jumping on the trampoline, guns and playing chess with his sister and dad at home. He likes to play chess online with his brother in India as well. Thanks to Mr.Aakash Tiwari for the support and guidance.”

“Bhavya is a very happy and joyful boy always smiling and enjoying every class to the fullest. He likes to play games and tries to learn from his mistakes and improve. 2. Shamanth Krishna Reddy Nare

“Shamanth had been learning chess since Feb with PCA. We started him on chess to help him focus on his concentration and attention. He has always been a very active child. Playing chess regularly helped him learn the aspects like accepting the failures, learning from mistakes and not giving up. Coach Mr.Rajat has been very helpful and patient with Shamanth. He helps the kids channel their energy to focus on practice and learning which eventually gives us good results. Now Shamanth is a lot more focused and takes failures in his stride, analyzes where it went wrong and puts more effort into his next game.”

“Shamanth is very friendly in nature and has a positive mindset, who showed great passion towards playing chess and focus on learning rather than the results, which shows good sportsmanship. 3. Peri Sai Krishna

“Sai is a cheerful and loving boy studying in Primary 2 and lives in Singapore. He is 8 years old. He started playing chess with his uncle Mr. Ramesh Tata when he was 6.5 years old. Firstly thanks to him as he introduced the game in such a way to Sai that he became more and more passionate about the game. He really enjoys playing chess and also always tries to learn new tricks and techniques by watching YouTube videos and from his teacher. He joined Primer Chess Academy from June 2021 with instructor Harshita Sinha. She is really very talented and intelligent enough to manage the kids and train them well. After starting classes with her, his perspective about the game has changed a lot and also improved a lot. Previously he used to feel very insecure if he lost his Queen. But now he has changed his mind. Thanks a tonne to Ms.Harshita Sinha for guiding and encouraging Sai so much. Other than playing chess his hobbies are Singing, Drawing & Painting, cycling and playing with friends.”

4. Cayden zhe yu

“Cayden is a 4 years old bubbly boy who showed interest in chess when he was 3.5 years old. His past favourite is abacus, painting, chess and scooting. He loved the tournament with PCA peers. His skill sets have improved tremendously and his love towards chess is growing daily too. He would like to thank coach Sarthak for his guidelines and support.”

“Cayden is a patient kid who grasps all the topics covered in the class with full dedication. He enjoys chess, attends the practice sessions regularly and is very punctual. He is improving day by day and with this consistency one day he’ll surely become a good player. I wish him a great and successful future ahead…!!”

5. Ritvik Wadhwa

“Ritvik Wadhwa lives in Melbourne and is 7 years old. He is very fun-loving & social and has a creative mind. He likes building things and is quite mature for his age. He loves to play Chess & basketball and is really good at Mathematics. He likes playing with friends, though he hasn’t been able to meet his friends because of lockdowns in Melbourne since July and is looking forward to meeting them soon. He started with Premier Chess Academy last year with Coach Aabhas Jindal and his performance has improved significantly. We would like to thank Aabhas Sir for his mentorship and for building Ritvik’s skills further in chess. We would look forward to him performing well in under 8 tournaments in Melbourne.”

“Ritvik is a highly energetic kid. He is always ready to take up challenging class activities and execute them with perfection. His puzzle solving and game skills are improving day by day. The best part which I like about Ritvik is that, even though he is so young, he takes all the feedback very seriously and works on them. He is super happy whenever he gets a good ranking in practice sessions and also gives his level best in the USCF events. I am very much sure that all of Ritvik’s efforts and hard work will help him achieve great heights in the chess world. Great going Ritvik!”

6. Arsh Jain

“Arsh is 10 years old. He lives in Melbourne Australia .He started getting bored in lockdown and started playing chess with his dad which made him very interested and wanted to practice more. He joined PCA around 2 months back and already has learnt a lot .Arsh loves solving maths puzzles and strategic games.”

“Arsh is good at puzzles and his puzzles solving skills in class is very good .He get the ideas easily while solving the puzzles .He also likes playing games on lichess and knows different tactics very well. His favorite checkmate is scholar’s checkmate. While attending the live chess class with me he is very attentive and disciplined in class and always follows proper instruction. I wish him all the best for upcoming tournaments and world cup chess matches.”

7. Adhvay Jayavarupu

“You will see Adhvay playing either cricket or soccer when he is not playing chess. He also enjoys drawing and is a keen follower of the NBA and English Premier League.”

“Adhvay has been amazing! If you talk about the hunger of sportsmen, he is right up there! Extremely interested in Chess and also other sports like Cricket, Basketball and Football. He has this” if you beat me, you have to play with me again so I beat you immediately” which is exactly what you want from a sportsman, like Magnus Carlsen himself! 8. Aayan Nayak

“Aayan is a 7 years old boy studying in grade 2 and lives in Melbourne, Australia. He loves to play chess and enjoys coaching with his coach Rajesh Nayak .Apart from playing chess his hobbies are reading books, spending time with families and riding bike.”

Selection Criteria – October 2021: 

  • Regular in class and practice sessions.
  • Displaying improvement in practices to reach top 3 positions.
  • Puzzle solving and tactics findings in regular class.
  • Generate quest in chess and regular in assignments.
  • Over all – Passion is evident in class, practices, puzzle solving etc.
