At Premier Chess Academy (PCA), our vision is to transform kids into the world of chess & support them along the transition. Each and every kid at PCA deserves a special appreciation but we have shortlisted (selection criteria below) the students. Friendly advise, “for student’s those who didn’t make it through – you will make it one day and for those who are the stars of the month – continue the practice as your bar goes up”.
Here we go to recognize the stars of the month (October 2021) at Premier Chess Academy, Europe!
1. Thiviyan
“Thiviyan is 11 years old and has had an unfaltering passion for Chess since a very young age. For Thiviyan, Chess is more than just a game, it is a philosophy. It has helped him evolve into a hard working character but moreover, it has given him a fighting spirit. Victory at the chess board has always been Thiviyan’s top priority and this has led him to become a determined and competitive player, and most importantly, his strategic thinking and ability to focus contributes vastly to his success in Chess. Thank you very much!”
Coach feedback on Thiviyan:
“His passion for Chess is growing day by day. He is always on time and very polite. Thiviyan’s calculation ability is improving daily. The thing which make Thiviyan special is his curiosity. He’s having such fighting spirit over the board, he never gives up in any situation which I, as a coach, trying to put into the players, but in the case of Thiviyan…it is natural!”

2. Biranavi Thiruvarudchelvan
“Biranavi is an 11 years old girl who loves coding, designing, and playing games with her friends. She is very creative and always interested in problem-solving. Computing is her favorite subject at school. Biranavi started playing chess during lockdown against her mum, dad, and brother while watching chess videos and reading through a book to guide her. Out of pure interest, she started to learn chess with coach Raunak. It has been wonderful watching her skills grow. Many thanks to Raunak for expanding her chess knowledge.”
Coach feedback on Biranavi :
“Biranavi is very punctual, always on time. She is a quick learner and very good at chess puzzles and always surprises me with some innovative moves. Biranavi is a silent girl but she observes the topic very quickly and always tries to implement those learning in chess matches and puzzles. Best wishes to her. Keep it up Biranavi ! “

3. Erisha Gupta
“Erisha is a lovely, charming, and cheerful 8 year old girl from Newbury, UK. She started playing chess when she was five. Her game of chess has tremendously improved over the last year or so, thanks much to her passion for chess and some exceptional mentoring from coach Rinku – her coach and mentor for more than a year now. It’s so satisfying to see how she applies the knowledge and strategies at the game or in a tournament. Other than chess, Erisha plays Tennis and Hockey. Erisha is also a Stage 6 British ASA swimmer. She is an exception at public speaking and Drama in her school that has won her many accolades in that space. Many thanks to PCA and especially coach Rinku for his brilliant mentoring & exceptionally encouraging techniques to add one more feather in her cap.”
Coach feedback on Erisha :
“Erisha joined chess class when she was a complete beginner and now she is performing really well in chess class doing her classes continuously. She does her homework every day and plays practice chess tournaments. She loves to do puzzles and celebrates whenever she solves them correctly. She understands her mistakes and tries not to repeat them. I wish her good luck and more success in the future.”

4. Avani Dokania
“Avani is a 9-year-old fun-loving kid. She started playing chess last year under Siddharth’s guidance and coaching. Apart from chess, she loves playing strategy and puzzle board games. She is very good at solving puzzles which are also reflected in her chess games. With Siddharth sir’s guidance and inspirational way of teaching she is improving every day and will surely go a long way.”
Coach feedback on Avani :
“From day 1, Avani has been a very punctual and disciplined girl. She learned how to play the pieces from 1st class. 0 background of chess whatsoever. In the practice session, she played from day 1 too. In the European region- where kids have a time crunch, she always takes out time to play as much as she can. Her class is sometimes clashing with practice sessions so sometimes she does 2 hours of chess straight! 1 hour of practice session 1 hour of theory class. She picked up chess slowly but now she understands chess much more and dots are connecting beautifully for her in chess! “
