At Premier Chess Academy (PCA), our vision is to transform kids into the world of chess & support them along the transition. Each and every kid at PCA deserves a special appreciation but we have shortlisted (selection criteria below) the students. Friendly advise, “for student’s those who didn’t make it through – you will make it one day and for those who are the stars of the month – continue the practice as your bar goes up”.

Here we go to recognize the stars of the month (June 2022) at Premier Chess Academy, Middle East!

1.Prajayan 

“Prajayan is 7 years old in Grade-2. He studies in Saudi international Indian school in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. His sister used to play chess & he will watch the game. This was motivated him to learn more about chess & he started to watch more games to understand more about chess. Also, his mother was the one who insisted on joining chess classes & once he enrolled in PCA academy, he was very much interested in game. Whenever he gets free time, he used to play online chess & play with her sister it developing useful cognitive skills at this young age. I could see he enjoys playing & I was happy to say that joining PCA has increased his confidence level & improved his chess skills, thinking ability & concentration. 2.Shubhi Agrahari

“Shubhi is a 9 year old from Doha, Qatar. She studies in 5th grade at AKIS. She likes to play Roblox, enjoys being with friends, roller skating and much more. She is kind-hearted, active, loves to play puzzle racer in lichess and basketball. She learned more about chess under the guidance of Coach Baivab Mishra and Arya Bhakta. Coaches are very friendly and teach properly. Her strength is to accept her weakness & try to overcome. She is working hard to get promoted to the next level.”

“Shubhi is a very fast learner, and is dominant in her games. She’s very fast at solving puzzles, ahead of everyone in the class most of the time! 3. Krithik 

“Krithik is 11 years old and studying in grade 7 at DMIS school, Doha, Qatar. He has a very good grasping power and ready to learn new things. He is a very good singer. Also, he loves to learn languages. He is a Well talented person. He shows his interest in chess during pandemic so we decided to join chess academy and he is rocking now. We are eagerly looking forward to his grand success. All the credits goes to his coach Mr. Jeet Singh and PCA on me and my wards behalf would like to thank the academy and Jeet Sir in specific for all the dedication and good work.”

4.Aarushi Inthirakumar

“Aarushi is 13 and studying in Sunrise English Private School, UAE. Aarushi is independent and a self-learner. She started playing chess online quite a long time and it was the right time that we found Premiere Chess Academy to provide her a proper training in chess. Mr. Keshav Mishra, her coach has trained her immensely to reach this level. She also excels in pencil sketching.”

5.Lavith Saha

“Lavith is an enthusiastic 7 and half year old boy. He was introduced to the world of chess when he was around 6 years old. He was told the basic about us. Then we got to know about Hardik Sir’s Chess Classes and with his trial class itself , Lavith was fond of his style of teaching. Since then he has been constantly attending the classes and learnt so many tips and rules about chess and even teaches us as his parents. The thing that I like about the classes is that Hardik Sir is constantly backing them up and each time he just levels a little higher and give the kids a challenging task and motivates them. He makes them understand the concepts very clearly and when they do mistakes, he makes them realize in a very easy yet rigorous way. The individual attention given to each child in small batches is the highlight. The saying “Practice makes the Man Perfect” is clearly applied in the classes. No stone is left unturned to bring perfection in these young igniting minds even though the mode is virtual. Lavith just loves attending Hardik Sir’s class and will continue to do so as constant learning rigorous practicing is always benefitting.”

6.Shrihan Chhotaray

“Shrihan is 9 years old and studying in Grade 5 at Birla Public School in Doha, Qatar. He is a very enthusiastic kid and always gives his best to any activities he likes. His hobbies are dancing, playing basketball and drums. As I used to play chess, while teaching him some basics I found his interest in Chess and thought of enrolling him into a coaching class. Thats how we came to know about Premier Chess Academy through google and enrolled him in PCA. He is now enjoying learning chess and playing online tournaments. We are thankful to Prabhat Sir for his continual support and guidance for Shrihan to improve his skills in Chess.”

7.Rachell

“My daughter Rachell is 10 years old. We enrolled her in Piyush Sir’s class to learn Chess. Its almost a year now. Rachell is very shy girl and does not open up with other people that easily hence we were worried that Rachell won’t continue class more than a month. But with help of Piyush sir, she overcame her fear and shyness and always looks forward in attending the class. She didn’t have much knowledge about chess, but with help of sir she started taking more interest to learn and even learned many tactics to play Chess. She in fact participated in her school chess competition where she has cleared 2 round successfully and is chosen for finals. She has started to play well. She also attends all the practice sessions regularly. Rachell is also learning Karate and she is a blue belt holder. She is found of art and music and plays keyboard during her free time. She also dances very well and always bags praises for her performances. We thank you Piyush Sir, for all his efforts in teaching Rachell and making her confident. We thank you for making her comfortable and made her overcome her shyness. The skill of interacting with kids , not every teacher knows but Piyush Sir has the ability and knowledge to make kids turn their interest towards chess. Without Piyush Sir it wouldn’t be possible for Rachell to learn chess so easily and it made her more confident to play the game with much focus and strategized.”

8.Navneet Krishnan

“Navneet Krishnan has zest in everything he does and enjoys brainteaser games. He started playing chess from the age of 6, his first guru in chess is his mother. He has participated in school chess competition and has won 3rd position twice. We thank his coach Mr Rakesh Nayak at Premier Chess Academy in sharpening his skills. Navneet Krishnan likes table tennis & swimming, he is in school house team in table tennis. He is Eighth grader in Indian School Muscat. He loves studying about animals and space.”

9.Jerron Lansu 

“Jerron Lansu is 9 years old studying in Grade 4, in Kuwait. The basics of chess was introduced to him by his father during Corona . As parents we noticed that he was showing a keen interest in the game and was able to win friendly matches against much older kids .It was then that we decided that we should give him professional tutoring. This led us to enroll him to Premier Chess Academy whom we contacted through social media. That is where he found his coach Ms. Raksha Jajoo. Our special thanks to Her for her interactive way of teaching which is commendable. The way she teaches , her encouraging words and correction of mistakes rendered have helped Jerron advance further in terms of his knowledge and interest for chess .Nowadays he eagerly waits for his classes and wants to be the best in the game!”

10.Aaryan Sikander Arora

“Aaryan has been playing chess with PCA for almost 2 years now. He loves the game and his favourite checkmate technique is the back rank checkmate. He enjoys the chess puzzles on Lichess and tries to apply different techniques such as double attack, skewers and double check. Aaryan wants to be a famous person/ company owner/ businessman when he grows up. In his words “ he believes that chess will help him to focus his mind and peacefully play the game with a lot of concentration “. Apart from chess Aaryan plays soccer, enjoys swimming, gaming and sometimes reading books. Coach Rinku has been a tremendous influence in honing Aaryan’s interest and skills towards chess. He always wanted only coach Rinku as his teacher and says that Rinku sir is very warm , fun loving , keeps the kids engaged and is constantly communicating with them during the class which keeps him motivated.”

“Aaryan is a smart and fun-loving boy who has a keen interest in this beautiful game called chess. He attends his chess class regularly and learns different strategies to improve. He plays with elders and hard chess players to improve more quickly. He tries different strategies in practice games and tries to win as many games as he can. His favorite checkmate pattern is back rank checkmate and he always tries to find back rank weakness over every game. His favorite player is Bobby Fischer and he tries to play like him. I hope he keeps doing his practice the same way and becomes a great chess player.”

11.Avyukt Santosh Iyer

“Avyukt is a 6 year old, studying in Year 1, at Horizon English School, Al Safa, Dubai. Avyukt’s fascination for chess started at the age of 4.5 when he was introduced to the game by his dad for fun at home. He got more interested after he enjoyed learning a few fundamentals from his older cousin during holidays. We enrolled him at PCA 5 months back with the hope of channelizing his super active mind. His interest in chess and focus has shown a steep incline. He loves his classes with coach Ritish Pathania and likes playing puzzles, games and learning newer concepts and theories. Chess comes to his rescue whenever he’s bored at home. Apart from chess, he shows a keen interest in learning tennis, abacus maths and piano. He also enjoys reading, swimming, building with Lego and playing outdoors with his friends.Thanks to PCA for their support and coach Ritish Pathania for always encouraging and motivating him. Avyukt wishes to continue his learning and improve his games in the coming months.”

12.Yukta Navin Matai 

“Yukta is studying in grade 10, living in Muscat, Oman. Her hobbies include swimming, playing basketball, chess, reading and watching Netflix shows. She and her sister first started playing chess last year during the Covid era, after a trial session with her coach, Mr. Utkarsh Gupta. Although Yukta was aware of the basic rules of the game but the teaching style of the coach got her to view chess as much more than a game of luck or chance but of tactics and strategies. The better She got at chess, and started developing her skills, under his coaching, the more hooked she got in the game. Special thanks to the coach, Mr Utkarsh, for his wonderful coaching skills who makes it super easy to understand complex strategies. Yukta is curious to learn more and develop her skills in chess further!”

Selection Criteria – June 2022: 

  • Regular in class and practice sessions.
  • Displaying improvement in practices to reach top 3 positions.
  • Puzzle solving and tactics findings in regular class.
  • Generate quest in chess and regular in assignments.
  • Over all – Passion is evident in class, practices, puzzle solving etc.
