At Premier Chess Academy (PCA), our vision is to transform kids into the world of chess & support them along the transition. Each and every kid at PCA deserves a special appreciation but we have shortlisted (selection criteria below) the students. Friendly advise, “for student’s those who didn’t make it through – you will make it one day and for those who are the stars of the month – continue the practice as your bar goes up”.

1. Sourya Sandhaath
” Hi, I’m Sourya and I live in the UK. I like playing chess and my favorite move is King’s pawn opening. Premier Chess Academy classes are fun and I learnt different strategies in the class. I’m happy to be selected as Star of the month. “

2. Lino Manoj
“Lino is 11year old and living in the UK. He has liked chess from his childhood. He started playing chess with his family at the age of 6. He enjoys playing chess with his friends as well. His other hobbies are playing musical instruments such as drums and ukulele. Lino likes playing basketball and football. He takes the victory and loses in a team spirit. Always says that sometimes you win, sometimes you learn. “

” Lino is very hardworking and creative at the same time. We can see his creativity in his chess games. He always has a positive mindset. He has the competitiveness that is needed to improve and keep self-motivated. He is regular in classes and practice sessions. He enjoys his chess classes and is very active while doing puzzles. He tries his best to answer all the questions. We can notice his overall improvement based on his class performance and playing ability. I am very happy with his efforts and the hard work he does. I feel very happy by seeing his improvement and I hope he excels, even more. I wish him good luck in the future. I also want to say a big thanks to the parents who are always supporting him every time! “

3. Olivia Joseph
” Olivia Joseph is 8 years old and lives in Cambridge, UK. Olivia passionately cares about the natural world. She is very fond of horses and dogs. She occasionally goes horse-riding with her best friend. Olivia is a keen gardener too. In her spare time, Olivia loves to do pencil sketching and coloring which encouraged her to acquire great artistic talents and win some prizes. She is a committed Bharatanatyam dancer and violinist, who also enjoys singing in all languages that she is familiar with. She loves playing chess and puzzles. Whenever she gets some time she does play chess online or with her Daddy.”

” Olivia is very much interested in chess. She always wants to stay longer and play more games. She attends the practice sessions. She plays daily in lichess and increased her rating. Now she’s enjoying the game very much. She’s practicing during dinner, while returning from school, and making free time for CHESS. I am very much happy with her progress. I believe she’s gonna play at a very high level soon.

Selection Criteria – September 2022:
- Regular in class and practice sessions.
- Displaying improvement in practices to reach top 3 positions.
- Puzzle solving and tactics findings in regular class.
- Generate quest in chess and regular in assignments.
- Over all – Passion is evident in class, practices, puzzle solving etc.
