At Premier Chess Academy (PCA), our vision is to transform kids into the world of chess & support them along the transition. Each and every kid at PCA deserves a special appreciation but we have shortlisted (selection criteria below) the students. Friendly advise, “for student’s those who didn’t make it through – you will make it one day and for those who are the stars of the month – continue the practice as your bar goes up”.

Here we go to recognize the stars of the month (January 2023) at Premier Chess Academy, India!

1. Yuvaan Deepak

Yuvaan Deepak is a 8 year old boy born in chennai.he is  studying in class 3rd .He is very much interested in playing chess. He’s been playing chess for the past 5 months with Premier Chess Academy. He’s making good progress in learning, chess and playing different tournaments. He’s also very good at math and  science. He has a YouTube channel UV Fun&Maths. Currently he lives in Nagpur and does his schooling there. In the future he wants to become a math Pro and professional chess player. His coach Mr. Adarsh kumar keeps helping him to prepare for his chess tournament who takes his online classes.”

Yuvaan is a highly energetic and active boy. He is very passionate about chess. He is always attentive and excited to learn new things. His active nature, passion for chess, and hunger to learn new things make him an astonishing player. He is one of those kids who always wants to answer quickly. On top of that, most of his answers are correct. He is very keen to learn new things and apply them in the games.  The best thing I like about him is that he participates in the practice sessions regularly and always tries to perform well. I feel very happy by seeing Yuvaan’s improvement and I hope he excels, even more.”

2. Saadhna Venkat Sai

Saadhana Venkat Sai is 10 and a 4th standard student at VIBGYOR HIGH (Haralur Road) school in Bangalore, India. She is known for her inquisitive and curious nature, always seeking to understand the reasons and causes behind things. Her interests are diverse, including mathematics, computers, Art, sports such as gymnastics and badminton, and classical dance. To enhance her analytical skills, she has started playing chess and has grown to enjoy it. Saadhana has a particular interest in Bharatha Natyam dance and has started performing it on temple stages. In her free time, she enjoys watching mystery and dance-related web series and experimenting with baking at home. “

Saadhna is a very brilliant student, she solves most of the puzzles given to her with high accuracy. She hardly misses any class and is very consistent with joining the practice sessions. Her interest and dedication to chess are what make her improve. I hope she keeps on showing such interest and dedication so that she can become a successful chess player. 3. Adwit Singh

Adwit is a 5-year-old boy from the Rustomjee International School in Mumbai. Like his name, he is very creative in his ideas that are unique. He is a quick learner and grasps things easily. On a personal level, he is a jovial and caring kid. He spends his time solving puzzles, drawing, playing games like chess and football, and doing gymnastics. He won medals in football matches, first prize in drawing competition, and the young talent award in chess. His curiosity and interest in the chess game made us enroll him in the PCA Chess Academy. We are really grateful to his chess teacher, “Mr. Ankush.” His skills of patiently teaching help Adwit learn chess moves and techniques. At the same time, it’s teaching him to think wisely, to remain focused, and increasing his concentration level. All thanks to PCA Academy for nurturing young champions in our kids.”

4. Citra Sivakumar

Citra Sivakumar is 9 years old and is doing grade 4 at gems legacy School. Citra is a very active girl who is always ready to play CHESS and many other games. She is a very great fan of Messi. She is always ready to learn new things and she has a lot of knowledge of different areas of life. She is passionate about two things, one is chess and the other is math. She wants to become a Doctor when she grows up. She has learned a lot from PCA CHESS ACADEMY.  She loves Ashish sir’s lovely way of teaching Chess. Thank you Ashish Patnaik sir for patiently answering Citra’s numerous questions.”

5. Ishan Singh

Ishan is an 8 years old boy, studies in class 3rd in Kendriya Vidyalaya. He lives in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. His hobbies are playing Kabaddi, watching cartoons and riding his boy-bike. Chess has now become his obsession. He joined PCA a month back and we are glad to see his improvement. We want to thank PCA for our son’s mental development. “

Ishan is a very silent kid. His way of explaining his ideas is slow but is always correct. He is very regular in joining the practice sessions too. 6. Siddhan

Siddhan is a 11 year old child of proud parents Mr. & Mrs. Srinivas and Veejeya. He is in 5th grade and very good at his academics   and Co curricular activities. We like to name him as Cuber Sid…as he learnt cubing himself in the Covid times. He solves 2×2, 3×3 , 4×4, 5×5 and learns to solve the rest of the cubes. Recently he showed interest in chess and we are sure he is very good at PCA and his teacher Girish is teaching at his best and with a lot of patience. His other hobbies include helping his mother in the kitchen especially when making his favorite sandwich or paneer related dishes. He is also learning music mixing in his free time. He loves his family so much and takes responsibility for his younger brother when required. Till now he showed interest in indoor games. Thanks to Covid times but I wish he also shows interest in outdoor games slowly. As any other kid he is fun loving and we bless him with a lot of health and happiness in his life.”

7. Tarun Mohan

Tarun is 10 years old, doing his 5th grade in The Indian public school, Chennai. He has been a very creative kid and a quick learner too. When he grows up, he wants to be a marine biologist. He is so passionate about learning chess and his goal is to defeat his dad once. Thank you coach Kunal Sir for being very patient with him and guiding him with the strategies to further excel in chess. Chess is not just a game to learn, it’s more of training the mind to be creative. Hope Tarun continues to play chess as part of this learning! “

8. Dhanyaa

Dhanyaa is 9 years old studying 4th grade in SRM public school, Thuraiyur, Tamil Nadu. She was very much interested in playing chess. She joined PCA in September 2022. We would like to thank Mr. Narendiran sir for making her understand the concepts and implementing those while solving puzzles and in practice sessions. Thank you Narendiran sir for patiently answering Dhanyaa’s questions about chess. Thank you PCA for conducting tournaments and appreciations. “

9. Hridaansh Chauhan

Hridaansh is a 6 years old class I student and studies in Delhi Public School, Gurugram (Sector 45). With a very inquisitive mind he is always keen to know more and more about the things around him. He has interest in reading story books of Hindi and English languages. He is an ardent lover of Chess and apart from this he also plays roller skating and karate. He is a big fan of Neeraj Chopra (Athlete) and Ronaldo (Footballer). He likes the way Nihal sir of PCA teaches chess to him and always admires the support of Nihal sir in making him a better chess player after every class. He’s very enthusiastic to attend every chess class. “

10. Shaurya Madaan

Shaurya is 8 years old and studying in Grade 3 in Kunskappskolan School, Gurgaon. He is a very fun loving sweet kid. He is very passionate about learning chess. He has been learning chess for 3 years and loves to play different strategies. He is also learning Soccer. He wants to become A proud Indian Soldier or a professional Chess player. “

11. Aapti Jain

Aapti is 7 yrs old studying in Grade 2 in Kennedy High the Global School Hyderabad. It has been almost a year since she started learning chess. She is a very intellectual and sharp-minded girl. She loves trying different things in her life. She is fond of Dancing, Singing and Reading Books. She improved a lot in concentration as well after starting Chess; This could not happen without Raunak Sir. “

12. Arun Jose Amilan

Arun is a seven-year-old student studying second grade in Wisdom Word School, Kurukshetra, Haryana. He speaks and understands four languages: Bengali, English, Hindi, and Tamil. He is curious to learn new things. Arun is very fond of reading books about History, Science facts, Animals, and the world’s Great people. He is much interested to learn about India and world History. He loves his friends and likes to play football; his favorite player is Lionel Messi. He likes to perform the Bhangra dance. He got an interest to play Chess from his mother. Through the Premier Chess Academy, he is trying to learn more techniques of Chess. Arun’s coach Mr. Subash Sanker’s excellent knowledge and teaching skills that allow him to adore every Chess Class. We thank Premier Chess Academy and his Coach for giving this great opportunity to Arun and all the other kids so that they keep themselves busy with this Wonderful Game CHESS.”

13. Rihav Mittal

Rihav is an eighth years old, grade 3 student at The Shri Ram Public School in Hyderabad. He loves playing games, with chess being his favorite. He started playing chess during COVID with his dad and showed a keen interest. As he was enjoying the game so much, we decided to go for proper coaching and recently made him join PCA. He is learning new concepts here and is excited to join practice sessions every single day. Tushar sir, thank you for your excellent mentoring. Other than chess, he enjoys playing cricket, table tennis, and Chinese checkers with friends and family.”

Selection Criteria – January 2023: 

  • Regular in class and practice sessions.
  • Displaying improvement in practices to reach top 3 positions.
  • Puzzle solving and tactics findings in regular class.
  • Generate quest in chess and regular in assignments.
  • Over all – Passion is evident in class, practices, puzzle solving etc.
