At Premier Chess Academy (PCA), our vision is to transform kids into the world of chess & support them along the transition. Each and every kid at PCA deserves a special appreciation but we have shortlisted (selection criteria below) the students. Friendly advise, “for student’s those who didn’t make it through – you will make it one day and for those who are the stars of the month – continue the practice as your bar goes up”.

Here we go to recognize the stars of the month (August 2023) at Premier Chess Academy, North America(Canada & USA)!

1. Rayansh

Rayansh is a 7 years old 2nd grade kid living in New Jersey, USA. He is a kind and ambitious child. He loves playing chess and keeps challenging himself with all the chess puzzles and want to learn more advanced moves. He is very competitive when it comes to chess tournaments and aspires to learn more. His favorite subject is math & had been enthusiastic to learn math. To add, Rayansh is also interested in Taekwondo.  He holds an orange belt and is working towards the black belt. He also loves playing basketball & watching youtube videos on chess & learning about grandmasters. We are extremely grateful to his coach Mr. Viswanath for his efforts & guidance. He gives Individual attention and encourages kids to improve. He guides Rayansh very well whenever needed, and Rayansh is very happy to have Mr. Viswanath  as his coach. Our many thanks to his coach Mr. Viswanath and the whole PCA team for all their efforts in making a difficult game like chess an enjoyable experience for Rayansh. “

2. Moubharnikha Sri

Moubharnikha Sri is an energetic, enthusiastic, obedient and very respectful 6 year old from Toronto, Canada.  She is a star player in both academics and extra curricular activities and starts into 2nd grade this year. She also gets trained in cultural dances also learning piano as an additional activity. She is a caring sister to her little brother. All of a sudden her interest in chess went up she wanted to explore more and sharpening her thinking abilities. Thanks a lot for the coach who shapes her in the right path. “

Moubharnikha is an intelligent, focused and calm girl. She gives maximum attention during the sessions. She is very consistent in practice tournaments. 3. Aryan Saik

Aryan is 12 years old and lives in Jacksonville, Florida. He is a 7th grader who likes to play chess, swim and play outdoors with his friends. Apart from chess and swimming he also enjoys playing tennis and learning Piano. He has developed a good skill of chess with the help of coach Tejas over past year and half. “

4. Vidwath Anne

Vidwath Anne is a 7-year-old 2nd grader from Atlanta, USA. His passion for chess started watching his sister attending chess classes and playing tournaments. Apart from chess he enjoys swimming, playing soccer and video games (Roblox) with friends and cousins. At school math is his favorite subject and enjoys solving math puzzles. He started practicing in summer vacation to balance both attack and defend techniques as needed. He joined PCA 10 months ago and with coach Sibin’s guidance and encouragement he has developed more interest in playing tournaments. Thanks Mr. Sibin for your continuous support and guidance. “

5. Soham Ankur Kasturiya

Soham is a 7-year-old boy who will be going into 2nd grade in Fall 2023. He is a charming, funny and naughty boy who loves problem-solving via Chess, Math, Legos, Rubik’s cubes or just pretending to play with his transformers. He is super compassionate and loves playing with his friends, biking around, playing video games, basketball and soccer. He loves running and calls himself Speedcheetah. He also loves reading about animals and birds. His favorite animal is the Cheetah. I’m glad to hear that Soham has found a passion for chess! Thank you so much to “Premier Chess Academy” for introducing him to Chess and giving him the platform to unleash his curiosity and love towards the game. 6. Sriyan Pamidimukkala

Sriyan is 7 years old and is based out of Charlotte, North Carolina. Sriyan is an avid soccer player and loves playing violin. He is a blue belt in Martial arts and a Harry Potter fan. Sriyan is always enthusiastic about learning new things and developed an interest in chess a year ago after watching his sister play. He joined PCA over the summer and his learning skills were elevated by his coach Rinku Jain and PCA. We see a tremendous improvement in his game these past 2 months. We appreciate the effort put in by coach which has increased confidence in Sriyan’s Chess games that he is playing chess every single day.”

7. Pavithran

Pavithran is a hardworking, quiet, and responsible kid. He is 10 years old and is in the 4th grade. He also has an interest in badminton and soccer. He started his chess classes with Premier Chess Academy a year ago. Initially, he just attended the classes and didn’t play many tournaments, but slowly he developed an interest and began attending more tournaments and practice sessions every day. His coach, Raunak Gupta, motivates him in every class to participate in more tournaments and teaches him techniques that really help him in his games. Raunak Gupta also makes sure to proactively arrange makeover classes for him. Thank you so much, Premier Chess Academy and his coach, for providing him this great platform. “

8. Hrehaan

Hrehaan is 10 years old, he began playing chess at the age of five. Although he learned the basics of chess from his dad, Hrehaan  gained more understanding and skills about chess on his own. He has a deep  love and passion for chess and frequently follows many National, International and World Cup chess games. Hrehaan has participated in numerous local, state and national chess championships and won several trophies. His dream is to become GM. Hrehaan is currently being trained by Rakesh Gurung at Premier Chess Academy. Other than playing chess Hrehaan enjoys playing competitive soccer, biking and pickle ball and also watches the Indian Premier League.”

9. Thanu Sree Senthilkumar

Thanu Sree Senthilkumar is 11 years old, studying 6th grade, she started playing chess when she was 9 years old.  Since then she always looked for ways to improve her games . After joining chess class she improved her chess games tremendously, thanks to her Coach Prakrati Manodhya. Apart from chess, she loves to read books and enjoy solving math problems.”

10. Nishita Gupta

Nishita is a 9-year-old girl who loves to stay busy and stay active the whole day.  She has a great sense of humour and finds joy in the simplest of things. She loves to play tennis and eat anything chocolate. She approaches new challenges with an open mind and excitement to expand her horizons. In this spirit, she picked up chess casually and then continued to learn the new skills with lot of determination and excitement. Chess kept her mind occupied, preventing her from causing trouble and doing mischievous things during her summer break. As parents, we are grateful for our amazing daughter who continues to impress us with her growth, kindness, and resilience. We look forward to seeing what the future holds for her.”

11. Krish Vijaibabu

Krish is a 10 year old positive kid who resides in Columbus ,Ohio. He is learning chess less than a year and is motivated to do well in chess. He is learning lot of new techniques during the training and excelling in strategies.Apart from chess he love’s various sport and competitions. Learning chess has helped him to stay focused and pay attention. He is as well starting to learn Viola for school band .We are very much happy with coach Devansh training and for choosing PCA for introducing him to learn chess with confidence. We are already noticing a whole lot of improvement in his games. Thank you for all your amazing guidance and support.”

12. Krishika Jagadesan

Krishika is a model child in many ways. She demonstrates exceptional intellectual curiosity and consistently excels in all areas. She has a limitless capacity for responding to challenges and acquiring information. She is a great swimmer and also plays soccer for her school soccer team. She enjoys skating, Rubik’s cubes and riding bicycles. “

Krishika, who is new to chess, has already achieved a top position in the Team Battle conducted by PCA in late July, despite only having played for 30-40 days. 13. Selva Vinayagam Mohankumar

” Selva is a 10-year-old 5th grader from New Jersey. He is an enthusiastic kid and is curious and excited to learn about stuff around him. Apart from chess he loves doing math. In his free time, he enjoys swimming and video games. He joined PCA recently and is being trained by Arya Bhakta who is very attentive and encouraging. 14. Viaan Madanbhavi

Viaan Madanbhavi is 10-year-old , Studying in 5th Grade. He is very much active and likes to play Basketball , Tennis and is very interested to learn about chess. We joined this class 4 months back and he enjoys and is passionate about learning chess. His teacher -Anshul form PCA ,ensures Viaan to understand fundamental chess strategies and tactics. He regularly reviews Viana’s work ,encouraging him to learn new skills and teach about time management as well. We are happy to be part of PCA and looking forward to excelling in chess. 15. Gunav Yarlagadda

Gunav is a 6 year old boy who is very much interested in learning to play chess. He is an attentive and obedient child. Premier chess academy has helped him in developing strategies in chess. Gunav loves attending the practice sessions and also solve puzzles in Lichess. As parents, we are satisfied with his improvement in the game and at the same time amazed at his abilities. Thanks to his coach Adyasha for helping him in understanding the concepts easily. Her continuous support, guidance and motivation helped Gunav to get better in the game. Gunav also loves to play basketball, swimming apart from chess.”

16. Yugith Hayagriv Prabhu

” Yugith Hayagriv Prabhu is 7 year old living in Virginia, USA. He started to play Chess when he is 5 years of age. It started as diversion from digital time but slowly he started to show interests. Over the past 2 years he is getting coached under Piyush master and is showing tremendous progress. He is playing in local clubs and chess meet ups. He also requests everyone in the house to play with him in free time. Apart from Chess, he also plays soccer, baseball with his brother and his friends. ”

Selection Criteria – August 2023: 

  • Regular in class and practice sessions.
  • Displaying improvement in practices to reach top 3 positions.
  • Puzzle solving and tactics findings in regular class.
  • Generate quest in chess and regular in assignments.
  • Over all – Passion is evident in class, practices, puzzle solving etc.
