At Premier Chess Academy (PCA), our vision is to transform kids into the world of chess & support them along the transition. Each and every kid at PCA deserves a special appreciation but we have shortlisted (selection criteria below) the students. Friendly advise, “for student’s those who didn’t make it through – you will make it one day and for those who are the stars of the month – continue the practice as your bar goes up”.

Here we go to recognize the stars of the month (February 2025) at Premier Chess Academy, Asia Pacific (Australia, Singapore and New Zealand)!

1. Venkata Sai YameeKrishna Vellanki

” Yamee Krishna Vellanki is an 11-year-old, bright, and enthusiastic sixth grader from Australia. She has a deep passion for chess, problem-solving, and drawing. Having been practicing chess for 10 months, she is always eager to participate in games and continuously improve her skills both in and outside of the classroom. To date, Yamee Krishna has competed in three chess tournaments, earning several certificates for her efforts. Her positive attitude and optimism toward the game have grown significantly, and she enjoys playing countless matches with friends and family. We owe much of her progress to Sir Anshul Bhatla, and we couldn’t be more pleased with her development. Beyond chess, Yamee Krishna also plays the Guitar, studies Indian classical music, and has a keen interest in Mathematics.”

Coach feedback on Yamee Krishna:

” Yamee has a wonderful persistence towards any task, she loves to solve any challenges put in front to her. She had started as a beginner with me and recently promoted to advance beginner and I am looking forward to helping her achieve more in chess. She is smart and cheerful which lights up my class too.
