Welcome to Premier Chess Academy, USA  Chess Olympiad 2022 – Final information page. Chess Olympiad started on Saturday November 5th with over 2300+ kids participated from various countries and now we are over to Finals! Congratulations to all of the kids who participated in the events and make it a grand success.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  • As communicated in Semi Final, only top 2 teams from each category made it to Final.

KEY DATES OF FINAL

DATE OF FINAL :– NOVEMBER 26th, 2022 (For All Categories)

SCHEDULE :

  • USA: November 26th, 2022 at 11:30 am ET/08:30 am PT/10:30 am CT
  • UAE: November 26th, 2022 at 06:30 pm UAE Time (Category 1), 08:30 pm UAE Time (Category 2)
  • Iran: November 26th, 2022 at 06:00 pm Iran Time
  • Qatar: November 26th, 2022 at 05:30 pm Qatar Time
  • Saudi Arabia: November 26th, 2022 at 05:30 pm Saudi Time
  • India: November 26th, 2022 at 10:00 pm IST

PRE-REQUISITE FOR GAMES

  • Ensure you are using “chrome” browser. Set your Google Chrome Browser as Default Browser (Go to your Control Panel →All Control Panel Items →Default Browsers →Set your default program →Web browser → Google Chrome)
  • Login to Lichess and save password in chrome. So no need to enter password again.
  • Game will be conducted on Zoom & Video On – Laptop/desktop – kindly login from laptop or desktop with video on. If your kid is joining from tablet or iPad, have a secondary device to show the video.
  • Go to your Lichess →Preferences →Game Behaviors →Pre-moves →No and Automatically Promote to Queen → Never
  • On the day of event, kids of all categories will have to join given zoom meeting:.
    Meeting id :- 389 071 0901
    Password :- (it will be shared in groups)
  • Kids need to change their Zoom username as:- Team name- Level Board No- Name. Example: – MM– AB1–Shaurya
    Please refer to Zoom Name of Final.
  • All selected players are added in respective WhatsApp groups. In case of concern, please contact your coach or Swapnil Raj (swapnil@premierchessacademy.com) by Thursday, November 24th, 2022.
TOURNAMENT RULES
  • Platform : lichess, Each kid will be using same lichess id that he/she used in Qualification Round. If in case your id got flagged by lichess, the kid will be disqualified & the reserve player will be playing in the team.
  • Days : 1 day (please refer to the schedule above)
  • Time Control : 10 min + 5 sec increment from move 1
  • Walkover Time : 10 minutes
  • Tiebreaks : Game Points
  • Illegal Activities : Taking any help from a book, device, or person is strictly prohibited. If any player found doing so will be disqualified from the event.
  • Zoom Monitoring : 1) Players has to join zoom meeting 30 minutes before start of the round. 2) Players has to keep their video on and audio off, till the end of the round. Video will be recorded to analyze for anti-cheating purposes, keeping the video on is mandatory.
  • Kids cannot increase their Opponent time or give Takeback while playing.
  • Once a player is withdrawn, he/she cannot join back.
  • Anti-Cheating : Use of external assistance is not allowed. All the games will be thoroughly analyzed for anti-cheating purposes. If any player founds using an engine will be disqualified. If any player found suspicious, Arbiter may take him to separate fair-play room to share screen or to observe camera in more clear way.
  • Disqualification : If any player conceals his identity (different identity) or misbehaves with arbiters, players and organizer will be expelled from the event without any prior notice.
  • Removal from Pairing : In the absence to any round without informing Chief Arbiter in written, the player will not be paired for any further round.
  • Discussion during Game/Analysis : A player may talk only to an Arbiter if any technical issue arises. Analysis or discussion with other players is not allowed in any case.
  • Spectators : Spectators are not allowed in playing arena. Parents, Teachers, Coaches, Managers are all spectators and they are not allowed in playing room.
  • Team pairing will be done manually by the Chief Arbiter.
  • Lichess links will be shared in zoom chat & kids will have to click on the link & play.
  • In case of Team draw (score 2.5-2.5), player with highest rating of both teams will play Tie break match of time control 5+0.

ROLE OF RESERVE PLAYER

Reserve Player will play in these following conditions:

  • If any player lichess Id gets closed/flagged.
  • If any player is unable to play due to any reason then reserve player will be playing remaining rounds.
  • Reserve player will not join the zoom unless he is called by the PCA Coach/Arbiter/Tournament Director.

How Team will win??

It’s a Team tournament and team need to score more than 50% to win.

  • In Category 1 : 6 kids per Team (5 Playing, 1 Reserve). Team need to score more than 2.5 points to win.
  • In Category 2 : 6 kids per Team (5 Playing, 1 Reserve), Team need to score more than 2.5 points to win.
  • In Category 3 : 6 kids per Team (5 Playing, 1 Reserve), Team need to score more than 2.5 points to win.

     DISCLAIMER

  • Applicable only for Premier Chess Academy enrolled kids.
  • Premier Chess Academy reserve the right to choose the winner based on the overall performance.
  • Participation for this event is voluntary for kids and parents. By participating in the event, the parent/kid agrees to the terms and conditions put forth by Premier Chess Academy Corporation, USA.
  • No bias will be involved as the winner will be declared with the tournaments links.
  • Premier Chess Academy currently uses Lichess platform for tournaments and won’t take any responsibility for platform related ranking or issues.
  • Premier Chess Academy reserves the right to cancel the event due to any reasons if decided by the management.
  • Premier Chess Academy won’t take any responsibility for any legal issues coming out of this promotional events.
