At Premier Chess Academy (PCA), our vision is to transform kids into the world of chess & support them along the transition. Each and every kid at PCA deserves a special appreciation but we have shortlisted (selection criteria below) the students. Friendly advice, “for student’s those who didn’t make it through – you will make it one day and for those who are the stars of the month – continue the practice as your bar goes up”.

Here we go to recognize the stars of the month (September 2024) at Premier Chess Academy, North America (Canada & USA)!

1. Rishik Peddireddy

Rishik Peddireddy, a 12-year-old 7th-grade student, has a deep passion for sports, particularly soccer, cricket, and chess. His enthusiasm for competition drives him to participate in various tournaments, where he thrives on the challenge and excitement of testing his skills. Since joining Premier Chess Academy, Rishik has made remarkable progress in chess, learning advanced strategies and techniques that have significantly enhanced his gameplay. His dedication to improving, combined with his love for competitive sports, fuels his growth both as an athlete and as a chess player.

2. Chetan Palla

Chetan is a 3rd Grader, and he is so much interested and passionate about chess. He likes to play chess/win tournaments, he plays for hours and hours and he never gets bored. He likes to play with guests/friends and show his skills and likes to learn in every game. He takes it very seriously when it comes to playing Chess and winning against the opponent. He uses the techniques and concepts learnt from his master Mr. Omkar, Thanks to him for his amazing teaching and Kids love learning from him. Appreciate his patience and making them “Star Kids 😊. Chetan started chess at a very young age from his brother. We were amazed by his techniques and spontaneity upon winning the opponent and he started doing that when he was 4 YO. I hope he continues his interest towards chess and keeps learning many more techniques and be a Star Kid in coming years as well 😊

Chetan is an enthusiastic young kid. He’s always interested in learning new topics, takes active participation in class discussions, he’s good at solving puzzles and enjoys playing games. He has shown amazing progress in his lichess rating recently, He is an amazing fighter who never gives up

3. Charan Jayram

“Charan is a 9 Years old Third grader, who was introduced to chess 9 months ago. Charan is passionate about chess. Every journey starts with a Single step. Once we saw his interest we joined Charan in Premier Chess Academy. What started as an interest has grown into strong determination, and now he always plays chess every day. Charan is very excited for his everyday class and love to play games in Lichess as well as with his family and friends. Now he is very much interested to join Chess club. Charan also learns Taekwondo, Swimming and has been learning since he is 7 years old. I would like to express my heart full gratitude to Premier Chess Academy Team and his class teacher Mr. Narendiran.Mr. Narendiran, has played a significant role in helping Charan’s progress. After every Tournament he is constantly helping Charan to sharpen his Chess Skills. Warmest congratulations to Charan for selecting as a Star kid of the month. Wishing you many more Success to achieve in chess as well as his future endeavors.”

4. Shanaya Mittal

“Shanaya is 10 years old and in 5th grade. She started learning chess less than a year ago, and she thinks it’s fantastic. Alongside chess, she enjoys swimming, which helps her explore creativity and challenge herself in different ways. Whether it’s through learning strategies in chess or perfecting her strokes in the pool, she loves finding opportunities to grow. Chess teaches her critical thinking and patience, and she finds joy in the intricate patterns of the game. Lately, she has been working towards improving her skills and understanding advanced tactics, and she’s excited to see where this journey takes her.”

“Shanaya is a very talented kid who started learning chess a few months ago with me. She has great interest in this game. She likes to learn different chess strategies in chess classes and implement those in the practice session. She plays most of the practice sessions and tries to beat high-rated players. She is a very patient, disciplined, and hard-working kid. I am very happy with her progress and hard work. I wish her all the best for her chess career. “

5.Dhruv Dommati

“Dhruv is a very brilliant and curious kid and enthusiastic towards learning new things. He found his passion towards chess while playing with his father and embarked on his journey with the help of coach Harshita. He loves playing chess and excelled within a short time, he puts maximum efforts in solving chess puzzles and winning games. His continuous effort in learning the game makes us parents very proud with the support of the coach and we would love to see him do better in the future as he wants to participate in chess competitions. And we are thankful to coach Harshita in guiding him and teaching new strategies and techniques.”

“Dhruv is so good at chess. He is doing very good in theory as well as game. He listens to everything that is being taught in the class. He has improved a lot during the time period. The way he deals with tactical situations is quite good. I hope he will be doing great in upcoming times. He always tries to calculate excellently whenever he is trapped in a difficult position and is also good at solving puzzles. 6.Kushi Sadananda Rai

“Kushi Sadananda Rai, Kushi is 9 years old, and loves doing gymnastics, swimming, chess, and playing with her friends. She is very creative and very sweet.”

“Kushi is really performing better and better every day, I have seen her rectifying herself whenever we find any mistakes with her games, she keeps learning new things and memorizes it. 7. Aarav Gairi

“Aarav is 8 years old and currently in 2nd Grade. He really enjoys playing chess, soccer, basketball and cricket. During his free time, he loves watching football and cricket. Ever since he joined PCA, his interest in chess has grown a lot. We are very thankful to Coach Sahil for his guidance and support throughout.”

Selection Criteria –September 2024: 

  • Regular in class and practice sessions.
  • Displaying improvement in practices to reach top 3 positions.
  • Puzzle solving and tactics findings in regular class.
  • Generate quest in chess and regular in assignments.
  • Overall – Passion is evident in class, practices, puzzle solving etc.
