Each and every kid at PCA deserves a special appreciation but we have shortlisted (selection criteria below) the students. Friendly advise, “for student’s those who didn’t make it through – you will make it one day and for those who are the stars of the month – continue the practice as your bar goes up”.

7. Wills Tan Guan Hao

“Wills is a seven-year-old who picked up chess 7 months ago in q3 2020. I didn’t really expect him to pick up interest but to my surprise he kept pestering me to play against him. I sent him to a chess academy in Singapore where he picked up basic moves and checkmate strategies; he came in third runner up in a chess competition in just a couple of months’ time but it is through coach Siddharth where he developed more focus and fully realized his spatial intelligence. He started making more aggressive openings and able to think a couple of steps ahead. He can even tell which move i am going to make and eventually he came in first runner up in the most recent competition in mar 2021!”.

Coach feedback on Wills:

“Wills is an extraordinary talent! He was born to learn chess, his will power is immense, even if his opponents are stronger than him and more experienced and older, he fights his way through them and beat them! Impressed with Wills calculation, extremely good in young age. This kid has lot of potential and one to watch for in future”.
