At Premier Chess Academy (PCA), our vision is to transform kids into the world of chess & support them along the transition. Each and every kid at PCA deserves a special appreciation but we have shortlisted (selection criteria below) the students. Friendly advise, “for student’s those who didn’t make it through – you will make it one day and for those who are the stars of the month – continue the practice as your bar goes up”.

Here we go to recognize the stars of the month (August 2021) at Premier Chess Academy, North America(Canada & USA)!

 

1. Adhrith Vutukuri

“Adhrith is a 12 year old who lives in Seattle, WA. He will soon start his 7th grade. He is a smart kid who is very respectful to everyone. His interests include doing art, playing piano, playing sports other than chess. He used to play chess from a younger age but his passion for it increased from the time he joined Premier Chess Academy. Thanks to Aabhas Jindal Sir for coaching him and helping him grow in chess. His goal is to win at least few chess tournaments this year. Thanks to Premier Chess Academy for providing him a platform to participate in tournaments on a regular basis.”

“Adhrith is a very obedient child. He is very energetic in classes and is always ready to discuss answers and variations in class. In the practice sessions also he tries to give his level best. I have a seen huge amount of progress in Adhrith within a short time and I am very happy about it. The best part about him is that he always stays positive. There are times when he has to face defeats but in those moments instead of giving up, Adhrith learns from his mistakes and makes sure not to repeat them. Apart from regular class and practice sessions, he has also shown his skills in USCF tournaments which is  commendable! 2. Aahna Nanda

“Aahna is an 8-year-old 3rd grader from Calgary, Canada. She is a cheerful, fun-loving and enthusiastic kid. Aahna started learning chess this May and fell in love with it. She is a gymnast, swimmer and a soccer player. She is an active kid all her life until now. We were amazed to see her sit at one place and enjoy the depth of chess. All thanks to Premier Chess Academy and special thanks to Coach Sushant to guide her. Her favorite move is Ruy Lopez to win the opponent. She is very much involved in the game and tries to play lots of puzzles and games on Lichessother than tournaments. Even if she loses the game, she tries to learn from her mistakes. The best part is she gained more confidence by playing chess, and as parents, we love that.”

3. Mahendra Kolla

“Mahendra is a smart 9 year old boy studying 5th grade in Los Angeles country. He loves to play Minecraft and to solve Rubix cube which he can solve in less than a minute. Mahendra enjoys in acting skits and to have fun arguments with his big sister. He is very active and won couple of local chess tournaments after polishing his skill at PCA. We are glad that we joined Mahendra in PCA. Special thanks to his friendly teacher Ayush Pattanaik for his excellent coaching and for accelerating Mahendra’s logical thinking. Thank you.”

4. Harish PrathapKumar

“Harish is a 9 years old 4th grader. He is a cheerful and hardworking kid. He started learning chess from his 3rd grade through Premier Chess Academy and gained much interest in playing it. He doesn’t miss to attend his regular and practice sessions. He was always encouragerd by his chess coach Baivab Mishra Sir who motivated him to improve his game .Besides chess he likes to play tennis and roller skates with his friends .He also loves to play his piano at home and spends his free time by playing with his little sister Monisha using his hoverboard. Thanks to Baivab Mishra Sir for all your efforts and encouragement towards all the students.”

“Harish is extremely talented and got a huge amount of “Chess Knowledge”. He never gets upset for any down falling rather he keeps up his pace and continue to put efforts with more dedication. He is a very regular kid, never missed classes nor practice sessions. His performance in this month is commendable since apart from mastering the “art of solving puzzles” and “understanding positional concepts” he has overcame the weakness of playing fast and not looking for opponent threats. He has increased his lichess rating by significant margin and constantly got the top three position in practice session tournament which really makes him worthy star of this month. Hope he continue to perform well and achieve his dreams in the long run. Being a coach I really feel lucky to have “Harish” and wishing him to have an extremely successful life.”

5. Shreevas Arunprasad

“After joining Mr. Darpan’s Team , I could see more improvement in Shreevas’s game .Shreevas’s thought process strategy and interest towards chess has increased tremendously and he loves to work with Mr. Darpan . I would appreciate Mr.Darpan for all his teaching patience towards the kids in answering all the questions and his friendliness makes the kids very comfortable to work with him ,Good job MR. 6. Dhyuvan Ashok

“Dhyuvan is 8 years old living is Houston, Texas and currently in 3rd grade. He got introduced to chess about a year ago and picked up some good skills over the course of this summer with a lot of practice sessions. Thanks to his mentor Akash Tiwari. He gets excited about Magnus Carlsen ever since he watched his documentary. Besides chess, he loves to play basketball, piano, riding his bike and also learning abacus. He loves technology and wants to keep up with it.”

7. Kanishk Ramprasath

“Kanishk is a 10 year old 6th grader who lives in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was introduced to chess by his dad at age of the 5 and attended his first chess class at the age of 6. Other than chess he loves playing Cricket, Soccer, Monopoly and video games. He also likes reading books and watching movies. His favorite series is Harry Potter. We would like to thank coach Amit Tiwari for Kanishk’s rapid development.”

8. Neil George

“Neil is 10 years old and is a 5th grader. He lives in South Carolina. He loves to play soccer and chess. He also likes to read, travel and swim. He started taking chess seriously about a year back when he started PCA coaching. We, as his parents, think chess is helping him with his academics as well by improving his organization and problem solving skills. All credit to his coaches Pushkar and Rajat Malik for helping him get this far. Thank you coaches!”

9. Aharan Rammohan 

“Aharan Rammohan is living in Ohio and is a seventh-grade student. He is a very smart and good human being. He is very passionate about American football. He is a fan of the OSU football team and the Atlanta Falcons. His ambition is to become a football player. Aharan loves playing chess with his sister and is very competitive when playing chess.”

10. Anant Sharma

“Anant sharma is 7 years old and lives in Southlake Texas. He loves LEGO’s , chess and hiking. He enjoys exploring new ideas and is always looking to invent something from things around the house. He loves learning from his coach and loves defeating most adults in the household with his chess skills. He is kind, always ready to help and looking for ways to solve a problem.”

She started learning and then playing chess with her dad, and then developed interest. “Risheek is 10-year-old 5th grader from Vancouver, Canada. He is a quick and enthusiastic learner, also sportive kid. He likes to read books a lot, math and bike riding. He was introduced to chess by his dad at the age of 7, he was playing with dad only but not much, once he joined in PCA he learned lot of strategies in chess, he loved it and playing more games. “Abinandh is 5th grader in Orlando. He is always self motivated on learning new things tirelessly and the same way he kind of learned chess last year. After joining Premier Chess Academy and especially with the Coach Utkarsh Gupta, he made the chess learning interesting and challenging. Hence now he got more into it with professional touch. “Zihan is 8 yrs old and currently lives in Toronto, Canada. He started playing Chess with his dad during the pandemic for fun. He then developed a keen interest and wanted to learn in a professional manner. He then joined Premier Chess Academy in February. Apart from chess, he loves to swim. “Jui Vinay Shirke is a five year old girl living in Fremont California. She started to play chess around 2 months back and soon she started liking the game. 16. Astitva Srivastava 

” My son Astitva is 12 years old. We enrolled him in Piyush Sir’s class to learn Chess just a couple of months back. At that time, he didn’t have much knowledge about chess, but within two months he developed not only keen interest but learnt strategy, planning, defense, hidden attack, and many tactics. He started playing very well. He attends all the practice sessions and participates in online competitions. In addition to Chess, Astitva is a black belt in Taekwondo, plays guitar, learns Vedic Math & French and has expertise in Coding and Robotics. We thank you Piyush Sir, for all his efforts in teaching Astitva and making the learning process so smooth, and super interactive. Piyush Sir is very knowledgeable and skilled in chess, that really helps Astitva in his learning. We would like to thank Piyush Sir for creating a deep interest in Astitva for Chess. “Varshan Sujendranis a ten-year-old fourth-grader from Shrewsbury, MA. He loves to play chess and basketball every day. He has been learning chess for the past 3 months. We are glad that he improved his analytical skills. He laid out most of his time in practicing chess this summer and he improved his moving skills. “Abhyodaya is a chess lover, who is in grade 5 of school and lives in the city of Atlanta, Georgia, USA. He learned his basic chess skills from his dad and then a couple of months back got enrolled in Premier Chess Academy with Sarthak sir. Sarthak is spontaneous in reviewing and providing feedback. “Navtej is a 6 year old boy living in Seattle, Washington. He started learning chess with his friends who go to PCA, he was able to learn how each piece move on the board. He fell in love with the game after attending more PCA classes for last 2 months. Many thanks to coach Soumyajit for keeping his spirits up, I am really impressed with his progress. 22. Ruhaan

“Ruhaan is 10 and is a happy go lucky kid. He got inclined towards chess at the age of 6 when he saw his dad playing it. He always believes in the mantra of hardwork and determination and sets his goals in advance to achieve them. This chess academy and coach Keshav has helped him improve his chess skills. It’s a great pleasure and achievement for him to get the Star kid award on his second month in the academy.”

23. Swaasa Reddy Adreddy

“Swaasa is 7 year old, 2nd grader from Columbus, OH. She has started her Chess classes in January, 2021 with zero knowledge and no family members play chess. She is enjoying the classes and tournaments from the day 1. We are so glad that we have taken right choice by selecting PCA, especially big thanks to her teacher Tushar. He always gives the accurate feedback whether it’s good or bad which is helping her to focus on the areas where she needs to improve and also observed that Tushar is reviewing games of individuals after tournament ,giving the suggestions and its helping Swaasa to improve her games day by day. We ,as the parents, can clearly see the difference in Swaasa not only in Chess but also helping her to have healthy group discussions as they are sharing ideas each other, improved her listening, focusing, logical thinking skills. Besides playing Chess she enjoys playing with her 2 year old brother Saahith , watching movies, dancing for fast beat movie songs. “Aditya Ramani is a 7th grader and lives in Arkansas, USA. He was passionate to the game of chess at the age of 7. Since then, he participated in various school tournaments. He loves learning and has expanded his tactics after joining PCA. Thanks to his coach Mr. Prajwal Gupta. Aditya has rapidly improved in his skills. On the day of joining PCA, coach Prajwal made a statement ‘You will be able to defeat your father within 3 months’. Yes, he was correct, Aditya, after only 2 months, was able to consistently defeat his father. He also loves playing soccer, basketball, and lacrosse. Aditya is a music lover and plays the Carnatic Violin and the Mridhangam. As every kid, Aditya likes to play video games in his free time.”

  • Regular in class and practice sessions.
  • Displaying improvement in practices to reach top 3 positions.
  • Puzzle solving and tactics findings in regular class.
  • Generate quest in chess and regular in assignments.
  • Over all – Passion is evident in class, practices, puzzle solving etc.
