At Premier Chess Academy (PCA), our vision is to transform kids into the world of chess & support them along the transition. Each and every kid at PCA deserves a special appreciation but we have shortlisted (selection criteria below) the students. Here we go to recognize the stars of the month (December 2021) at Premier Chess Academy, Asia Pacific (Australia, Singapore and New Zealand)!
1. Christian Jean Florens
“Christian is a 9-year-old boy who lives in Singapore. He likes chess, horse riding and coding. He started to know about chess when he was 5 years old, while his kindergarten teacher introduced the game to the class. Christian then showed his great interest on chess and requested a chess board for his birthday gift. He played with it whenever he was free. Christian joined PCA afterward and his knowledge had been improving a lot, from knowing nothing gradually started to master the essentials of the game. This is amazing and remarkable. Special thanks to his coach, Aabhas, for all the effort and time he puts on Christian.”

2. Bisnu Praharaj
“Bisnu is a 10-year-old boy whose favourite game is chess. He also has interest in cricket and soccer. In chess he has played 2 Singapore national level tournaments representing his school. He had joined this academy at August 2021. This class has helped him so far and he is making good progress. His favourite storybook is Ramayana.”

3. Eshaan Neelam
“Eshaan is 8 years old studying in primary 2 and lives in Singapore. 3 months back he joined in PCA, he is now well playing in chess with new strategies. He enjoys playing chess. He likes mostly outdoor games likes soccer, board games and bicycling. Very special thanks to coach Ramendra Ranjan who is helping him to improve his skills and made learning interesting. “

4. Prasun Dinesh
“Prasun will be entering year 6, having a great passion towards sports, art and craft. He is polite, kind and caring nature. After joining PCA he became challenging to his Dad and uncle in chess. Learning lot of new tricks. He made few friends and challenging to other kids. He grasps ideas faster and he have wider thinking skills. ”

5. Siddhi Gandewar
” Siddhi is 10 years old and lives in New Zealand. She is in year 6 and joined PCA 2 months back. She loves playing chess and regularly plays with her dad. She is very creative and spends her time doing art n craft. she is good at drawing and likes coloring. she loves playing outdoor with her friends.”

6. Alexander Forest
” Alexander is 11 years old and attending year 6 in 2022. He lives in Brisbane, Australia. He started chess in year 1 but didn’t continue as he didn’t show much interest. This year he was inspired by GM Hikaru Nakamura and started to learn chess from YouTube and chess.com lessons. As his passion for chess continues, we signed him up with Premier Chess Academy so he can learn further. He really loves attending the lessons online and playing practice games and weekend tournaments. He also joined the school chess club and participated in the chess camp last week and won third place in his rating group. Playing chess really boosted Alexander’s confidence and he wants to continue improving his chess skills. Alexander likes sports such as rock climbing and soccer. He also loves music, he plays violin and piano. We want to thank his coach Vaibhav Deshmukh for stimulating his interest in chess to another level and encouraging him to think laterally when playing chess games. “

Selection Criteria – December 2021:
- Regular in class and practice sessions.
- Displaying improvement in practices to reach top 3 positions.
- Puzzle solving and tactics findings in regular class.
- Generate quest in chess and regular in assignments.
- Over all – Passion is evident in class, practices, puzzle solving etc.
