At Premier Chess Academy (PCA), our vision is to transform kids into the world of chess & support them along the transition. Each and every kid at PCA deserves a special appreciation but we have shortlisted (selection criteria below) the students. 1. Chetan Danda

“Chetan is 11 years old and is in 6th grade. He enjoys playing sports like soccer, cricket and basketball with his friends. He loves to watch NFL football games. Initially he was skeptical about joining chess. After he had a Demo session with Mr.Ankush, he was very impressed to join chess. Now Chetan tries to play as much as he can. We appreciate coach Ankush for helping Chetan to improve his skills. “

2. Harini

“Harini is a second grader and lives in Westchester county in New York. Harini showed a lot of interest in chess when her parents introduced her to chess. They later enrolled her into the PCA academy and she found that program very exciting. She improved her chess skills considerably in the PCA academy. She looks forward to the chess classes every week. Besides chess, Harini learns piano, Carnatic music, swimming and figure skating. Currently, Harini enjoys reading Harry Potter books. “

3. Ilan Anandan

“Ilan is a 7 year old, first grader who lives in Mckinney, Texas. He started his chess journey a year ago. Since then he has always been curious to learn and play chess. He is trained by his coach, Mr Akash Tiwari. Ilan is a joyful and talkative kid who always keeps himself busy. He is good at math and likes to play with his friends. “

4. Harshavardhan Annangi

“Harsha is 10 years old and a 5th grader living in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey. He enjoys doing math , playing Piano , Drums and Pokémon. He loves making friends. It’s been a few months since he joined the PCA , and he started improving a lot by learning new techniques from coach Mr Abhi. Now chess is one of his favorite sports and he really enjoys the game. We want to take this opportunity to thank his coach Mr.Abhi and the PCA team.”

5. Satyateja Tumuluri

“Satya is a 6th grader living in Seattle, WA. He has been with PCA for over a year. He discovered chess by chance and started liking it. PCA is a nice platform where he is guided by his teacher Aabhas and gets the opportunity to practice and play with Kids worldwide. Particularly, he likes Lichess competitions. In addition to chess, Satya likes to code, solve math problems, and plays Video games with his friends. He also plays Basketball for his school. He likes to go on bicycle rides with his friends. Satya is very kindhearted and tries to help others in need. “

6. Krish Chandragiri

“Krish is a happy, charismatic and highly energetic 5 year old kindergartner who loves to play any game. He enjoys cooking, doing science experiments and building with Legos. We introduced Chess to him to improve his patience. Krish took to chess immediately due to its resemblance with war strategies and fights which he likes a lot. He started playing practice sessions regularly from past month and we are amazed to see him sit in one place and enjoy the matches. His game has improved a lot since then and now he puts up a tough fight with mom and dad. For a very active kid who is always on the go, it is truly remarkable. Thanks to Coach Ayush for keeping the class interesting and engaging. Appreciate his guidance and support. “

7. Sujan Prashanth

“Sujan is a 3rd grader and lives in Wichita, Kansas. He has always shown interest in sports and games. One day, he just expressed his interest towards learning chess. That is when we enrolled him for PCA about 4 months ago. We have seen great improvement in this game. Thanks to his coach. Besides chess, He loves to build innovative things using Lego sets. Also, he has an interest in roller skating and he participated at the state level championship.”

8. Srishti

“Srishti is a 4th grader and 10yrs old. From as early as a 5yr old Srishti exhibited good analytical problem solving skills with a knack of connecting the dots. We thought a chess class would be a perfect tickle to her mind and will bring the best of her abilities. However we were not sure if she would enjoy the game or not, so we started the PCA classes on a trial basis. She picked the game instantly and started enjoying the challenges thoroughly. She likes the classes and interactive practice games equally and getting better with each new one. Srishti also enjoys swimming, arts and music in her other free time..”

9. Eshanth Sai

“Sai is 10 years old and lives in Mississauga, Ontario-Canada .He is a friendly ,kind hearted kid and likes helping others. Sai was introduced to Chess by one of his friends .He started exploring more about it online and by playing some games on chess.com. He started developing keen interest and then we enrolled him in PCA. Sai enjoys chess classes and we can see the progress he has made so far. Thank you to Coach Arya for all the encouragement and support. Apart from Chess, he is training for Soccer on weekends and also enjoys outdoor activities with younger sister.”

10. Vihaan Chandaraprakash

“Vihaan is 6 years old and lives in San Ramon, California. He is studying Kindergarten. We introduced chess to him through PCA when he was 5 years old. He quickly got the concept and started enjoying the game. And there is no looking back after that. All credit to PCA and his coach Anshul for proper guidance and doing lots of puzzles and training sessions in class. Apart from chess ,Vihaan loves biking, swimming, drawing, doing puzzles and exploring outer space.”

12. Gourika Sakargayan

“Gourika is 8-year-old and lives in California, USA. She is a second grader who likes to play chess, dance, sing and read. She started playing chess 1 year back and enjoys learning new chess concepts with her coach, doing puzzles and playing games on Lichess. Since last one year, playing Chess has become an integral part of Gourika’s daily activity. It helps to improve concentration and logical thinking. “Varun is a 13 year old (7th grader) from Temple City, California. He loves to play soccer, basketball, and baseball. He is interested in playing chess, so he joined the Premier Chess Academy and started learning chess strategies from 4 months. 14. Jiya Singh

“Jiya Singh is in 5th grade and lives in Eastern Pennsylvania. During May of 2020, Jiya was introduced to chess by her parents. Her parents would tell her to play with her younger brother. Jiya loves art and loves playing sports like: basketball, soccer, tennis, swimming, and running. She also loves to sing and travel. She is very passionate about animals. She looks forward to continuing her journey with PCA! “

15. Pavithra Nair

“Pavithra Nair is an 8 year old 2nd grader from California. She has improved her chess games since joining PCA. She shows a keen interest in chess and has learned a lot about tactics. The daily practice sessions have been helpful too. We are thankful to her coach Baivab Mishra for supporting her and his patience is commendable! Truly blessed to have him as Pavi’s coach. “Paksh is 6 year old, kindergartener in Cox Mill Elementary school and lives in Concord, North Carolina. He got his interest in chess from a few neighborhood kids. He is keen on learning new techniques in chess. A big thanks to his teacher mister Omkar for teaching these young kids so patiently. Paksh also loves to play outdoor games like soccer. 18. Ashwath Dinesh

“Ashwath Dinesh is 9 years old and lives in Omaha, Nebraska, United States. He is studying in 4th grade. He is a very active and empathic kid. Ashwath developed interest towards the chess game while playing with his father for fun. To take it to the next level, we have joined him in Premier Chess Academy and since then he is thoroughly enjoying the classes, practice sessions and weekend tournaments. Besides chess, Ashwath is learning Piano and Tennis. He also enjoys playing Basketball, Video games and enjoys outdoor activities spending time with his baby sister. Ashwath is loving all interactions with the coach Mr.Mihir Mehra during the sessions. “Mahaswin is 8 years old and lives in California, USA. He is a 2nd grader. He is very enthusiastic and a quick learner. He was introduced to chess 6 months ago and started playing with his mom. After playing for a couple of days he said that he wants to learn more and become a grandmaster. To encourage his interest, we joined him in Premier Chess Academy in the mid of September 2021.He learnt a lot of strategic moves from coach Kunal and we have noticed a tremendous improvement in his way of playing chess. Now he loves to play chess every day and it became part of his life. He is very eager to attend every class with Kunal to learn new techniques in chess and improve his game day by day. Besides playing chess he likes reading books, drawing, swimming and playing with his little brother.”

20. Navya Jha

“Navya is a 1st grader and lives in Orlando, Florida. She is a 6 yr old curious child who loves to know about new things. We enrolled her in chess last summer vacation but now she has developed so much interest over the time. We are proud parents and love the way she is progressing. We are certainly thankful to her coach for his knowledge, belief and encouragement which helped her deeply in learning and keeping her interest in chess. 21. Samanvi Kotha

“Samanvi is a 3rd Grader who lives in Dallas, USA. She is 8 Years old. Samanvi is an enthusiastic kid and started learning chess from July 2021. Her interest in chess multifold as soon as she started attending the chess classes. Thanks to PCA and Coach Pavithra for coaching her and she is thoroughly enjoying the classes, practice sessions and weekend tournaments and never wants to miss any of them. She is a fast learner and loves to play chess with her family and friends in her spare time. She is also teaching chess to her little brother. 22. Ritwik Somagattu

“Ritwik is an energetic and enthusiastic third grader from Austin. He used to play checkers when he was five and we couldn’t beat him. That was the time we decided to teach him chess. But we didn’t have any knowledge of chess and he tried to explore on his own until we were made aware of Premier chess academy this July. Ever since he joined PCA his skills have improved and heard a lot of good things about him from the coach. Thanks Piyush for mentoring him. “Prahar is a 6 year old kindergartener from Miami, Florida. He was introduced to chess during the pandemic last year. He is a go-getter and ready to take up any challenge. Besides Chess , he likes playing golf and gymnastics. One month back Prajwal Sir told him to improve his rating in order to get promoted to advanced beginners class. Since then he has made it his goal to attend practice session everyday . With his dedication and focus, he has improved his rating from 670 to 952 in the last couple of weeks. We thank Prajwal Sir for all the guidance and motivation provided to help Prahar get better at chess and start loving the game. “

“Vivaan is a 6 year old- 1st grader, from Phoenix, Arizona. We introduced Vivaan to chess 8 months ago and soon enrolled him with PCA. 27. Shashwat Singh

“Shashwat is a 7 years old second grader and lives in Sanford, FL. He loves to play chess and is a big fan of Harry potter. He was first introduced/inspired to chess when a friend’s kid won an award in a chess competition. Shashwat started showing interest in Chess after that and now he is ready to play Chess anytime. He has shown great improvement in a couple of months. I’m really impressed by his dedication and energy level during the classes, practice sessions and tournaments. 29. Madhurima Kalluru

Madhu joined the classes about 3-4 month ago and since then has shown significant increase in her chess skills. She is also developing a good interest in the game and is in constant learning mode. 30. Aayush Srihari

“Aayush is 10 years old from Massachusetts and loves playing chess. In his free time he likes to read. His favorite was the Geronimo Stilton series and now Harry Potter. He is also getting trained in Indian Carnatic music for almost 6 years and loves to sing. His favorite sport is badminton. He first got interested in chess by playing with his father. 32. Vivek Boppudi   

Vivek Boppudi is a 3rd grader in Dublin, CA. He started playing a little bit of chess,  just out of curiosity, a couple of years ago. However, he began to love it only thanks to his absolutely amazing coach Mr. Utkarsh Gupta, at PCA. He eagerly looks forward to every single class and practice session and nothing can come between him and that. 33. Sanvi Bhatia Ghude

Sanvi is a 4th grader and lives in Wisconsin, USA. She was introduced to chess a year ago and started playing on the board with her family. She was enthusiastic to learn it and was quickly picking up on it. She loved playing on the chess board for a long time. Seeing her passion and love for chess we decided to take it to the next level and enrolled her in Premier Chess Academy few months back. Thanks to the PCA for the support, guidance and training, her liking towards Chess has just continued to grow. She loves it so much that she now plays with her cousins and that’s a wonderful way to connect with them. She was excited to have passed round 1 of the PCA World Cup 2021. 34. Nandithsai

Nandith is a 7-years-old 2nd grader. He was introduced to chess at the age of 5. Initially he didn’t have much interest in chess and he stopped playing. Later when he was 6 years, he gained back his interest in chess and started learning by watching some chess videos and by reading a few chess books. He was dedicated and focused on the game and slowly chess has begun his favorite game. Then we heard about the Premier Chess Academy via one of our neighbors. After joining PCA, he has gotten better and now he enjoys learning chess and loves playing the practice games and tournaments. We sincerely thank his coach Mr. Tushar for fine-tuning him with wise logics and nuances. In addition to chess, he also practices Soccer, Piano and Gymnastics.

35. Siva Sundar

Siva Sundar is a 5th grader from Pleasanton, California, United States of America. He is a great learner, communicator, and a talented child. Siva started playing chess at home as a family hobby and showed keen interest in this game. We enrolled him in Premier Chess Academy under the mentorship of coach Mr. Sushant. This is a great opportunity where Siva improved his logical thinking skills, ability to face challenging tasks, play chess tournaments with a competitive spirit, and always try new strategies to solve new problems. Mr. Sushant is one of the best teachers who teaches students very methodically and provides guidance around the clock. Siva got selected to play in US Chess Federation (US Chess) and secured a decent ranking in a short period of learning chess from Premier Chess Academy. There is a beautiful quote from “Brad Henry” which Siva honors to Mr. Sushant, “A good teacher can inspire hope, ignite the imagination, and instill a love of learning”. 36. Nihar Kotha

Nihar is 9 Years old and he started playing chess when he was 5 years old and gradually developed interest in the game. He likes to be challenged and I think chess gives him that platform to be challenged and come out as the winner. He has been steadily increasing his rank in Lichess and coming out as 2nd or 3rd in the recent tournaments conducted by PCA. He loves playing soccer and dreams of becoming an international soccer player. He is good at solving rubix cubes and plays a ton of video games. Thanks to his coach Shrutika, she has been a great mentor for Nihar. He seems to greatly enjoy the class where I see him very active and involved while the class is in progress. I hope PCA and his mentors can help him achieve great heights in Chess.
