At Premier Chess Academy (PCA), our vision is to transform kids into the world of chess & support them along the transition. Each and every kid at PCA deserves a special appreciation but we have shortlisted (selection criteria below) the students. Friendly advise, “for student’s those who didn’t make it through – you will make it one day and for those who are the stars of the month – continue the practice as your bar goes up”.

Here we go to recognize the stars of the month (December 2023) at Premier Chess Academy, North America(Canada & USA)!

1. Atharv Natarajan

Atharv is 7 years old and studying in 2nd grade. He enjoys playing sports and loves solving challenging math problems. He showed some interest in chess while playing with his neighborhood friends. To learn it the right way, we enrolled him in PCA. We feel that he is showing a deeper understanding of the game and loves participating in the tournaments. A special thanks to coach Sushant for his guidance and support so far. “

2. Girish Ravikumar

Girish is 8 years old, studying 3rd grade and living in Rosemount, Minnesota. He is an enthusiastic, smart kid always curious to gain knowledge on new things. He started learning the basics of chess at the age of 6 from his school club that has piqued his interest and passion for chess. After joining PCA, there’s improvement in his game tactics and has boosted his confidence to participate in tournaments, thanks to his coach Mr. Subash.  He regularly watches YouTube videos on attack and defensive techniques. Other than chess, he loves to play basketball, build Lego structures, read above grade level fiction and non-fiction books and solve math problems. “

Girish is an extremely dynamic and Passionate kid. He used to apply the tactics in the games which he learned in the class. Regular use of practice sessions in chess makes him better. He never missed any class and overhauled the shown subjects appropriately. Wishing him all the best. ”

3. Daniel Cyriac

Daniel “Danny” Cyriac is a 5th grader from Memphis, TN. He is very passionate about the things he does. He is an avid soccer player and enjoys playing violin. He is bright, curious, humorous, and clever. He loves to learn new things and is always looking to improve and become better whether it is at chess or in general. He came across chess through a random YouTube video last summer and did a lot of self learning. Later he joined Premier Chess Academy. His coaches have helped him to get better on his skills. He loves competing and looks forward to the weekend chess tournaments. Thank you PCA for nurturing his interest & skills in chess. “

Daniel is a very sharp kid and it takes him no time to absorb a new topic. He can quickly understand the nuances of a chess tactic or a puzzle and within a few seconds of looking at a position, he can very well form a picture of the roles of every piece on the board and how to use them. Daniel is a strong player as well, and he regularly participates in the tournaments out of his love for playing chess. Also, he is very good at puzzles and is most of the time the first one to answer any given puzzle. I wish him the best for his future in chess and hope he becomes an established player someday.”

4. Arham

Arham is 11 years old and is in 5th grade. Arham enjoys chess and has been playing for a few years now. He always looks forward to classes with Coach Rakesh and even the practice sessions. In his free time, he also enjoys reading books and playing basketball.”

Arham is a young talented, hardworking and enthusiastic kid who pursues to keep on improving himself. He too has a very good learning ability and is able to grasp new concepts and ideas very quickly.  He always gets actively involved in the class activities with full focus.  He too shows great enthusiasm toward chess and mostly loves learning in classes along with playing with his fellow classmates. He too has a younger brother, who takes class along with him and both are performing very well. Arham’s parents are also very positive toward chess and encourage their both sons to learn and practice chess. I am very much happy with the improvement of Arham and I too wish him a very bright future toward chess and in real life.”

5. Saanvi Rai

Saanvi Rai, an 11-year-old residing in the Bay Area of California, is a passionate reader with a penchant for taking on new challenges and acquiring diverse skills. In addition to her love for chess, Saanvi is diligently training to become a Bharatnatyam dancer and gymnast, showcasing her commitment to a well-rounded set of interests. Introduced to chess during her early childhood through engaging games with her father and uncle, Saanvi has nurtured a genuine curiosity for the art and science of the game, consistently striving to enhance her skills. Her dedication is evident as she immerses herself in lengthy chess sessions, seeking victories against formidable opponents and aiming to secure the top spot in her league. Saanvi’s immediate goal involves triumphing over family elders, showcasing her sharp chess mindset. As parents, we take immense pride in witnessing Saanvi cultivate a deep affection for the game, approaching it with a serious and determined attitude. We hold firm confidence in her potential to emerge as one of the best in her domain, acquiring valuable life and strategic skills through the intricate world of chess.”

6. Dhanvin Vella

Dhanvin is 10 years old, studying 4th grade at Trinity Elementary school, Franklin. TN. He is good at math, loves to play badminton and chess. He is fond of playing video games . He started playing chess with his dad as a board game and got attracted to challenging moves and started analyzing it. Then we had him take in person basic chess classes . Now he is doing advanced beginner online classes with Keshav from premier chess academy. He is so interested in learning about chess games from Keshav. He is super excited to improve his chess ranking under Keshav coaching.”

Best thing about Dhanvin is that he ask a lot of chess questions in class and he loves solving chess tactics. 7. Jatin joshi

 Jatin is 9 yr old from Wilmington Delaware. He is a fun loving person. He is in 4th grade. His hobbies include ice skating,  flying airplanes and drones and playing chess. He is aspiring to become a pilot. We came to know about PCA through a Facebook ad.  Chess is a good activity for kids to learn patience and strategy.  He quickly developed interest in chess thanks to his coach Harshraj Gupta. Mr. Harsh keeps him engaged while working on his strengths and motivates him to learn and improve skills and tactics.”

8. Satvik Reddy Ankireddypalli

Satvik Reddy is 7 years old and is in 2nd grade. He lives in Rockville , Maryland .He started learning the basics of Chess from his friend and we heard about PCA at the same time. Now Chess is one of his favorite games . We are extremely thankful to coach Harshita for helping Satvik , making the class very interesting and teaching new strategies in every class.”

9. Aadhyan Palle

Aadhyan Palle  is in 3rd  grade and lives in Prosper, Texas in the United States. He is a curious, kind and obedient  kid. He is very curious to learn new things especially related to science and He likes talking his mind out and loves  to make new friends. He enjoys playing chess and soccer. He is highly enthusiastic to participate in chess tournaments and to attend his classes. We would like to thank PCA Coach (Mr. Girish) for supporting and guiding Aadhyan to continue his learning and enhance his interest in chess. “

10. Avik Tenneti  

Avik Tenneti is 7yrs old and is in 2nd grade. He loves playing soccer and building Legos. He also loves solving hard puzzles in chess. He likes to learn new techniques in chess games. He enjoys playing chess with his dad. Thank you coach Devansh for always encouraging and supporting him in chess games.”

11. Bharat Jain

Bharat is 11 years old and is in 5th grade. He lives in Fremont, California. He enjoys spending his time building Legos and reading books. He came to know about PCA from his cousins who are also in PCA. Ever since joining the academy, he plays chess games non-stop and enjoys it. We are grateful for Coach Chirag for filling his mind with endless new strategies which help him win and improve every game.”

12. Nicolos Nagib

Nicolos is a very curious, hard working and responsible student. He constantly strives to better himself. At his school He was just awarded with a diploma of honor roll student for Fall 2023. Nicolos especially loves math and science. In his free time, he enjoys playing soccer. Nicolos started showing interest in chess when he self thought some moves and was playing with his older brother and father. He has been a student at Premiere chess Academy since August 2023 and has made significant improvements in his knowledge of chess. Thanks to his coach, Mr. Abhi, Nicolos is very motivated, eager to improve his chess skills and always looks forward to his next chess class. We are so happy that we enrolled him at Premier Chess Academy.”

Selection Criteria – December 2023: 

  • Regular in class and practice sessions.
  • Displaying improvement in practices to reach top 3 positions.
  • Puzzle solving and tactics findings in regular class.
  • Generate quest in chess and regular in assignments.
  • Over all – Passion is evident in class, practices, puzzle solving etc.
