At Premier Chess Academy (PCA), our vision is to transform kids into the world of chess & support them along the transition. Each and every kid at PCA deserves a special appreciation but we have shortlisted the below students. Friendly advise, “for student’s those who didn’t make it through – you will make it one day and for those who are the stars of the month – continue the practice as your bar goes up”.

Here we go to recognize the stars of the month (February 2021) at Premier Chess Academy, Asia Pacific (Australia, Singapore and New Zealand)!

1. Tanish Karthik

“Tanish is 10 years old and a fun-loving person. He loves sports and has a great passion towards cricket and chess. He started showing interest when he was 8 years old. He always like to play a game with his dad before going to bed. Initially, he was losing all matches but slowly he gained patience to understand the game deeply. Which made us to decide to look for a coach to train him with the actual skills. We are really happy with the team, the way the Academy is coaching and interacting with the kids. He’s been with the academy for nearly 3 months and i can see a lot of improvement in his game .”

Coach feedback on Tanish:

“Tanish is a good learner and is very attentive in the class. He always revised the things that are taught in the class. He is a kind of kid who enjoys every moment while playing a game & doesn’t lose hope when he loses a game. He works very hard to improve his games. He used to participate in practice session with great enthusiasm & always has a learning attitude while playing games. I wish him very good luck for his Chess Career”…

4. Anay Mittal

At a young age of 11, Anay is already an outstanding student, chess player and so much more. At age 9, he got selected into Singapore’s GEP (gifted education program). This program identifies top 1% students in Singapore and nurtures talent through a richer curriculum. He enjoys activities that stimulate his mind such as solving Rubik’s cubes of many different types (check out his YouTube channel: TheSpeedSolver) and difficult puzzles. Not only does Anay excel in academics, he is also an active sports person. He currently holds a green belt in Karate and has won several competitions. He also has a wonderful sense of creativity, especially in sketching.

Anay has always been interested in chess and he chose it as his school CCA subject last year. But his interest has peaked after joining PCA. Through coach Siddharth’s guidance during sessions, Anay gets encouraged and he is able to interact with peers who possess similar levels of talent. I want to thank coach Siddharth for constantly motivating Anay to perform better.

Coach feedback on Anay:

“Anay has a lot of fighting spirit in him which shows in his game. When he loses, he wants to play immediately with the person who beater him and take revenge, which shows he is not afraid of losing, perhaps don’t want to lose but want one more opportunity to play against the person which itself shows a lot of character. He is consistent in his games and also improving very rapidly in chess”.
