At Premier Chess Academy (PCA), our vision is to transform kids into the world of chess & support them along the transition. Each and every kid at PCA deserves a special appreciation but we have shortlisted (selection criteria below) the students. Friendly advise, “for student’s those who didn’t make it through – you will make it one day and for those who are the stars of the month – continue the practice as your bar goes up”.

Here we go to recognize the stars of the month (June 2021) at Premier Chess Academy, Asia Pacific (Australia, Singapore and New Zealand)!

 

1. Kyash 

“Kyash started playing chess at around the age of 5, under the influence of his elder brother whom he looks up to. He attended chess classes, but had a hiatus for more than three years due to timetable clashes. He truly became more motivated to play in January 2021, after signing up with Premier Chess Academy. Under the dedicated tutelage of Coach Sidd, who has been extremely patient to guide the class, along with the competitive nature of Kyash, he has blossomed in the short period of about half a year, visibly growing confidence in the game. The online approach has also facilitated his learning and regular game plays organized by Coach Sidd have been absolutely helpful in honing his knowledge in the mind sport. He looks forward to every single lesson and I can’t thank Coach Sidd enough for fanning his love for the game!”

Coach feedback Kyash  :

“Kyash has been very energetic in classes, he is keen on learning in every class and is competitive which is very important quality of chess player. He plays Practice sessions consistently and try to apply his own thinking into it, which bring Novelty and is extremely important for young chess player. Way to go champ”.

2. Aldrich Daniel

“Aldrich is a 11 year old boy living in Singapore. He is very enthusiastic about playing chess. He started playing chess since the beginning of this year 2021 and ever since he gained keen interest in learning different gaming strategies. Aldrich shows keen interest in attending those live classes conducted by his coach Anshul and also competing with his fellow classmates during practice sessions. His other areas of interests include music (he is very good in playing keyboard) and swimming”.

Coach feedback Aldrich :

“Aldrich is a good kid and listens to instructions very carefully, he is continuously improving his game and loves to attend class with his class mates , good at problem solving skills. He have a potential to become a very good Rated player soon. All the best aldrich”.

3. Neel VeerShetty

“Neel is a 7 year old boy from Adelaide Australia. He started learning chess since six months back, now he knows different techniques and strategies. His game are interesting and he loves playing online chess with his cousins 14 and 11 years. He is so attached to chess, that he took chess coins to school during his turn of sharing knowledge with his classmates. He also loves playing UNO, Dominoes, word search. Special Thanks to his teacher Vaibhav Deshmukh sir for making him learn new strategies easily. Now he really waits for Monday’s and Wednesday’s chess class”.

Coach feedback Neel :

“Neel is very energetic kid who shows lots of enthusiasm. He is ready to take new challenges all the time and always completes all the tasks given to him. Very good observer and quick learner. Likes to learn everything with fun. Best days ahead in chess for sure!”

4. Akhil Lingampali

“Akhil is a 10-year-old, studying in 5th grade. When he was 6 years old, he started showing early signs of interest and he used to play with his uncle and grandpa whenever he visits India. Over time, he found it more fascinating and started playing with his senior classmates on regular basis. Though he has a passion he couldn’t focus on the game after 10-15 mins. A few months back, we enrolled him in PCA seeing how serious he is with his game and learning. Thankfully, coach Rajat helped him to improve his focus and took his game to the next level”.

Coach feedback Akhil :

“Akhil is very focused kid and has gained a lot of interest in chess. His understanding level of chess has improved a lot with in short time duration. He is now showing interest by participating in practice session and completing homework That results in winning the practice sessions. Keep up the good work!!Many more to come in Future!!😊”

5. Naksh Doshi

“Naksh is a 6 years old boy based out of Singapore. He is a very fun-loving and happy go lucky fellow. He enjoys solving riddles as well as asking people the riddles. He also loves playing brain games/board games like word search, crossword, scrabble, monopoly, etc. He recently started learning Chess with PCA and thoroughly enjoys learning it and never misses any classes. Especial thanks to his coach Aabhas for teaching and enhancing his chess skills in fun-filled and interactive sessions”.

Coach feedback Naksh :

“Naksh is a very obedient child. He is always respectful to others. He tries to grasp all the topics which are discussed in class with full concentration and then tries to implement them in the practice sessions. He never gets demotivated and tries to learn from his mistakes. His hard work has taken him to this level and his consistency will help him achieve new heights in the chess world”.

Selection Criteria – June 2021: 

  • Regular in class and practice sessions.
  • Displaying improvement in practices to reach top 3 positions.
  • Puzzle solving and tactics findings in regular class.
  • Generate quest in chess and regular in assignments.
  • Over all – Passion is evident in class, practices, puzzle solving etc.
