At Premier Chess Academy (PCA), our vision is to transform kids into the world of chess & support them along the transition. Each and every kid at PCA deserves a special appreciation but we have shortlisted (selection criteria below) the students. Friendly advise, “for student’s those who didn’t make it through – you will make it one day and for those who are the stars of the month – continue the practice as your bar goes up”.

1.Karthik Mallavarapu 

“Karthik is a 7-year-old boy lives in Chicago area. He got introduced to chess in first grade and very much interested to learn more about it. He loves biking, playing soccer and board games with his friends and family. Many thanks to his coach Tushar for foresting and unleashing Karthik’s potential beyond his limits. 2.Aarshna Roushan

“Aarshna is in a 6th-grade fun-loving 1st-degree black belt in Taekwondo, a very good photographer, known as a math girl and awarded in school for her math skills. We are so glad of enrolling her in the chess class at Premier Chess Academy and so thankful to the teacher Mr. Keshav for teaching her the Chess skills. I am so certain that Aarshna’s dedication and teacher’s effort will together add a new feather in her hat.”

3.Aarav Chauhan

“Aarav is 10 years old from Philadelphia area and will be starting 5th grade this fall. He started to play chess when he was around 4 years old with his grandparents introducing the game to him after which he just fell in love with it. He plays two instruments – violin and flute. He loves to play with his little brother, Adhrit. He also likes to ride his bike, do magic tricks and playing Xbox. It’s been just a month since he joined PCA and he is learning a lot from his coach Mr. Prajwal. He has started participating in the weekly tournaments and is enjoying & learning together”.

4.Nandakumar Velkur

“Nandu is fun loving, enthusiastic second grader from Austin. Although he is introduced to chess couple of years ago, PCA re-invigorated his interest in the game and ever since he has been advancing his skills at a steady pace. He is now self-motivated and plays as many games as possible in addition to participating in the regular tournaments. A big shout out to PCA team and special thanks to Mr. Swapnil for all the hard work!”

5.Swanik R Edulakanti

“Swanik will be going to 2nd grade and he lives in Virginia USA. He was introduced to chess by his brother when he was 4 year old. He learned tactics and a lot more about chess with his brother. He started participating in VA state chess championship and Nationals this year. Now he is in Advanced Beginner level at PCA and thank you so much Coach Rajesh for your efforts and guidance to Swanik. He plays Chess with his brother during off school hours, his favorite chess piece is the Rook and favorite checkmate is the ‘Arabian mate’. Apart from Chess Swanik likes Planting, Sports, Reading, Mathematics and Watching Movies with Family.”

6.Lokaditya Reddy, Nalla

“He is 9 years old living in Redmond, WA. He loves chess so much that he started a YouTube channel on it https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCc459EhkjKbHdHnxWiQQ6Lw. He is a quick and self learner, learned Rubik’s cube in a week by watching some YouTube videos. Recently he started learning python and html/CSS.”

7.Jayden Varughese Mulamoottil 

“Jayden is nine years old and a rising fourth grader from Athens, Georgia. He actively started playing chess after he joined PCA earlier this year. Since then his interest in the game has improved and we would love to see him develop the skills and rise up to be a great player. He enjoys reading, nature walks, swimming and painting. We thank the Academy and Rinku sir for their efforts to keep the kids motivated.”

8.Saharsh Krishna Batchu

“Saharsh is 10 year old and a rising 6th grader. He is passionate about learning chess. He recently started showing interest in learning chess and has been playing chess online. Apart from chess, Saharsh showed his dedication towards Taekwondo and earned black belt when he was 8 years old. He likes swimming, soccer, learning Sanskritam and loves playing basketball with his friends and brother Aarush. After joining him in PCA he improved a lot in 2 months and whenever he gets free time he wants to play chess and likes to solve chess puzzles. Saharsh’s favourite piece is Knight and his favourite checkmate is ladder checkmate. Thanks to his Coach Vivek for his guidance and helping Saharsh improve his skills.”

9.Kanishka Loganath

“Kanishka is 10 years old, and she lives in Canada. She was born in Pondicherry, India. She is a smart kid with budding interests in diverse areas. Some of her hobbies include writing songs, playing guitar, practicing yoga, Bharatanatyam, and Crocheting. Kanishka loves reading books and solving math problems quickly. She is fascinated by Harry Potter books and movies. She is a great artist who draws anything and everything. She was introduced to Chess two months before when her Dad’s company gifted her a Chessboard. She enjoys playing chess and loves to play against the computer at different levels. Thanks to her chess coach Mr. Mihir for helping her improve her chess skills.”

10.Krithika Reddy Bavanam

Krithika is 7 years old 1st grader from Virginia, US. She showed interest in chess when she was 6. She know very basic chess, until she started attending classes with coach Akash. PCA helped her learn better chess with many new tactics. She also enjoys drawing, singing skating and loves reading lot of books. We would like to thanks Aakash for teaching her many new tactics in chess.”

11.Anish Mallajosyula

“Anish is a 6th grader living in Chicago, Illinois. 2 months ago, Anish got into chess and he decided to take his gameplay to a whole new level by joining Premier Chess Academy. His hobbies include reading books, playing basketball, and watching T.V. While playing a chess game his favorite tactics are pin and discovery attack his opponents’ pieces.  We would like to send a special thanks to his coach Sushant for always being encouraging and kind. 12.Aasrith Kolli

“Aasrith is in 4th grade and lives in Fremont, California. His hobbies are drawing, solving rubik’s cubes, building legos & playing chess. His favourite animals are orcas, dinosaurs and tigers. He is very much passionate in learning chess and is putting efforts to understand the game. He is eager to participate in competitions. We are very happy with PCA Team, and the way the classes are planned and how they are progressing. Would like to say special thanks to coach Bhaskar for the friendly way that he is learning.”

13.Nithya Tejaswini Ravalapalli

“Nithya is a 4th grader from Seattle . She is so active ,outspoken, passionate about the things what she wants to learn and a quick learner ! Apart from that she likes lot of creative , artistic skills , like drawing and dancing !!she started learning chess from her friend at the age of 7. She has joined in PCA few months back and soon she promoted to advance beginner level. This happens because of the active, talented coach Baivab Mishra sir gave her lot of support to learn chess in an interesting way by grabbing their focus towards learning the tactics. 14.Ayush Choudhury

“Ayush is 4th Grade student who loves to play violin and plays soccer from very young age. He loves chess and other outdoor games and activities. We introduced chess to him few months before and now it is a favorite sport to him. He remains focused while playing chess and is very passionate about it. He likes the way Darpan Sir makes him do the moves and helps him to solve difficult puzzles. When Ayush was new player during the practice session and the tournaments he often used to lose the matches and get frustrated. Darpan Sir ‘s couching not only helped him to learn the game. But his guidance also helped him to become more calm and take loss more easily than getting frustrated. Now he does the practice sessions and tournaments with great interest. Thanks to PCA and Darpan Sir for building his interest and passion for chess.”

“Kabir is 7 years old, lives in Canada. He is very energetic and always ready to learn or experiment new things. He is a very sincere and helpful child. He always share’s with others and is very mature for his age. He is sensitive and also makes sure he does not hurt anyone’s feelings. He loves playing chess. We enrolled him with PCA in September 2020 after that his concentration and confidence level in chess improved drastically. His love and interest in game is growing everyday all thanks to his coach Aabhas Jindal”.

16.Akshan pagoti

“Akshan is 9 years old lives in Frisco, Texas. He is a fun loving kid who always tries to give his best in what ever task he takes up. He is strongly determined and tries to learn from his own mistakes. His never give up attitude plays a key role in achieving new heights. Akshan started playing chess from February and started showing passion towards it, he loves to play chess with his mom everyday. Besides chess Akshan loves to play tennis , swimming , biking and reading comic books. he likes to teach chess to his little sister . Selection Criteria – May 2021: 

  • Regular in class and practice sessions.
  • Displaying improvement in practices to reach top 3 positions.
  • Puzzle solving and tactics findings in regular class.
  • Generate quest in chess and regular in assignments.
  • Over all – Passion is evident in class, practices, puzzle solving etc.
