At Premier Chess Academy (PCA), our vision is to transform kids into the world of chess & support them along the transition. Each and every kid at PCA deserves a special appreciation but we have shortlisted (selection criteria below) the students. Friendly advise, “for student’s those who didn’t make it through – you will make it one day and for those who are the stars of the month – continue the practice as your bar goes up”.

Here we go to recognize the stars of the month (June 2022) at Premier Chess Academy, India!

1.Daiwik

“Daiwik is 9 years old, he is studying in 4th grade. He lives in Chennai Thuraipakkam. He is very fond of avengers. Daiwik is very good at studies and sports. He joined PCA 4months ago. He is learning and enjoying Chess games very much, whenever he finds free time he starts playing chess on his mobile and laptop. We as a parent of Daiwik are proud of him. Hope he continues his journey and achieves success in this game. Last but not least I like to thank his coach Mr. Abhishek for guiding him and also Premier Chess Academy.”

2.Srijita Das

“Srijita Das is 8 years old and lives in Kolkata. She has being playing chess since 5years. She played several offline tournaments before the lockdown. But then she started losing interest and got addicted to social media and cartoons. Then I decided to enroll her in PCA under the supervision of Baivab sir. Now I can see her changes and again growing interest on chess. She loves Baivab sir as her own brother. We’re very happy with her progress. “Srijita is a very tough-minded and talented kid in all respect. At such a young age, her attitude of accepting failure and also trying to learn from them is praiseworthy. She is a very hard-working, sincere, and disciplined kid who usually doesn’t miss out on any practice session. She is so dedicated and passionate about chess that at such young age she keeps practicing chess even when she has other activities and studies to accomplish. Her performance in classes, speed of solving puzzles, and approach to handling the problem are absolutely remarkable. In the last few months and especially in the month of June she has consistently increased her Lichess rating and won many practice sessions with the full score which makes her a perfect candidate for the Star Kid of June. 3.Viraj mangal

“Viraj Mangal is sincere and very hard working child. He is 10 year old and studying in class V in Jaipur. He like to play piano and chess. His coach Bhaskar Sir is playing a vital role in improving his game. Thanks to him and PCA for their dedicated efforts. Good luck.”

4.Laksh Kondaveeti

5. Naitik Sethi

“Naitik Sethi is a 10-year-old child from Delhi. He is in Grade V. His hobbies are playing cricket, reading books and playing chess. He showed his interest in chess at the age of 6. He recently joined PCA. He learnt and improved a lot. He eagerly completes his assignments. Thank you, Kunal Sir, for mentoring and encouraging him.”

6.Nimai Vemulapalli

“Nimai is a 10 years old 5th grader from Hyderabad. He has a brown belt in Karate and also draws very well. He has learned about PCA from a friend of his in our community and started learning chess a year ago. He enjoys playing the tournaments online and has improved a lot since the last year. He is also a computer enthusiast and an avid reader. He reads a lot of books in his free time. I would like to thank his coaches Narendiran sir and Baivab Mishra sir for guiding him and making learning chess enjoyable.”

7.Vedang Bahuguna

“Vedang Bahuguna is 9 yrs old, grade 5th Student from Hyderabad. He is very sharp and quick learner. He loves to play Chess, Badminton, Cricket and Swimming. Vedang equally pay attention in academics. Teachers appreciate him for unique, innovative and realistic ideas. He is a good speaker and love to deliver speeches during various school events. He enjoy play online games with friends and cousins. He joined Premier Chess Academy 4 months back and really doing great under Coach Omkar Sir. 8.Jayashri

“Jayashri is a 13 year old girl from Coimbatore, Tamilnadu. She started chess from her UKG and has improved a lot in chess in these 9 years. She has also participated in district and state tournament and opened her rating in the year of 2018. Now her fide rating is 1251 standard. She loves and enjoys to play chess. She played at the national levels also and she is also very intelligent in studies also. She even won so many prizes in this chess field. She recently joined the premier chess academy and doing well. She likes to solve more and more chess puzzles. Her ambition is to become a Grandmaster in chess. We hope she will do that with the support of her coaches and hard work. 9.Akshay

“Akshay, his full name is Akshaya sai cherukuri, he is 9 year old, he is studying in 5th grade. He lives in vijaywada and hrapradesh. He enjoys playing chess and shows interest to learn new things in chess. He joined PCA in 2022 and his interest towards chess is growing day by day because of his coach Raunak sir’s support, I would like to say thanks his coach.”

10.Anivarit Bhardwaj

“Anivarit Bhardwaj is a 10 years old boy. He currently lives in Bangalore. He is very curious, creative and enthusiastic kid. He loves to play key board, badminton. He developed interest in chess while playing with his father. Later he joined premier chess academy. He is practicing under Mr. Sarthak Dutta. His excellent training and valuable motivation are helping him to improve his skills and strategies in the game. Daily practice classes are the best factor about premier chess academy. 11.Jaison Paradkar

“Jaison’s pretty clever for his age. He doesn’t even ask for help. In fact, he mostly just figures stuff out on his own. He is kind, passionate, naturally curious and super focused child. On his favourite topics such as Space, Military and Ordnance of different nations, Aircraft carriers and submarines, History and Geography, Extinct species etc. he can talk nonstop miles per minute. He joined PCA during pandemic 2020. Chess has furthermore enhanced his learning and logical thinking. Jaison is blessed to have Shahid sir as his coach. Due to Shahid sir’s super caring and encouraging nature Jaison has been continuously motivated to move forward and take on challenges be it in Chess tournament or Puzzle racer. Not only in chess but Shahid sir has been equally interested in Jaison’s academic and extra curricular activities. Sir is always concerned whether Jaison’s studies wont be affected with chess tournaments and always eager to help him with adjusting class timings and cover up topics which Jaison may have missed due to other commitments. Shahid Sir is among the first few people to always wish Jaison on all his School , Olympiad exams and sports performances. Thanks to PCA administration staff Reshmi ma’am for always being patient with parent’s numerous queries. Super impressed with all the PCA team for conducting and managing specialized zoom classes as well as practice sessions and tournaments wonderfully. Selection Criteria – June 2022: 

  • Regular in class and practice sessions.
  • Displaying improvement in practices to reach top 3 positions.
  • Puzzle solving and tactics findings in regular class.
  • Generate quest in chess and regular in assignments.
  • Over all – Passion is evident in class, practices, puzzle solving etc.
