At Premier Chess Academy (PCA), our vision is to transform kids into the world of chess & support them along the transition. Each and every kid at PCA deserves a special appreciation but we have shortlisted (selection criteria below) the students. Friendly advice, “for student’s those who didn’t make it through – you will make it one day and for those who are the stars of the month – continue the practice as your bar goes up”.

Here we go to recognize the stars of the month (May 2025) at Premier Chess Academy, Middle East!

2. Shivnanda Ranjith

” Shivnanda is a 9-year-old born in Dubai. She expressed her interest in chess at an early stage, and it’s been a year since she has started with the chess training. She has been determined to be consistent with her practice sessions. Other than chess, her hobbies include drawing and reading. We are grateful to Coach Mr. Jain Rinku for his guidance and motivation. It’s been a sheer joy watching Shivnanda’s confidence and competitive spirit improve.

Coach feedback on Shivnanda:

“Shivnanda is a sweet girl who loves to play chess and learn new chess strategies in every class. In the starting days, she was a little shy in asking doubts. But with daily hard work and dedication she made her weakness her strength and started every day. She likes to learn new chess tactics, positional checkmates and implement them in real games. She is a hardworking girl which will make her a great chess player in future. I wish her all the very best for her future.”

3. Meer Katrodiya

” Meer is a bright, enthusiastic, and highly motivated 7 years old young learner who is always eager to explore new things. His natural curiosity drives him to learn something new every single day, and he puts in his best effort in everything he does. Meer’s journey into chess began out of pure interest, watching videos on YouTube. With the guidance of a dedicated chess coach, his learning took a strong leap forward. He has shown great improvement, quickly picking up strategies and techniques, and developing a deep interest in the game. His determination to excel is visible in every area of his life. With a strong will to improve and a positive attitude, Meer continues to balance his academic and extracurricular pursuits with enthusiasm and discipline. He is a delight to teach and be around — focused, playful, and always ready to take on the next challenge.”

Coach feedback on Meer:

” Meer has made excellent progress, not just in results but in how they think about the game. There is a visible improvement in his positional understanding and patience—two qualities that often take years to develop. He has been approaching each game with more discipline, calculating deeply, and learning from every mistake without getting discouraged. What has been especially encouraging is the seriousness and consistency shown throughout May. Whether it is training games or tournament play, the attitude has been focused and mature. That kind of mindset is exactly what builds strong players over time. If he continues with this level of effort and curiosity, it will take him very far in chess. The potential is there—it is just a matter of keeping the momentum going. Great job this month!
