At Premier Chess Academy (PCA), our vision is to transform kids into the world of chess & support them along the transition. 1. Sreya R Nair

“Sreya R Nair is 8 years old and a Grade 4 student of Cambridge International School in Dubai. She is a self-motivated and hard working girl and her interests include singing, dancing , reading etc. She is passionate about Chess and it has become her part of life now .She likes to attend practice sessions and to solve puzzles. We extend our sincere thanks to Premier Chess academy & Coach Mr. Afinu for the unique experience and wisdom poured on her. We are sure that she will become an excellent player with the help of her coach. “

2. Unmuktta Rai

“Unmuktta is 9 years old, young, energetic, passionate and enthusiastic child studying in grade 4 at Birla Public School, Doha, Qatar. She loves to dance & sing and we noticed her keen interest towards chess and then we started searching for a good academy and then came to know about the PCA. We enrolled her with this academy. Her Coach Akash Sir is too good and always takes due care to improve her thinking skill along with concentration towards the game. Her interest and progress towards the game improved a lot and we thank Akash sir for all the efforts and help for her and bringing a good in-line platform for the future kids champions. “

3. Edwin Thomas Binu

“Edwin is our 10 year old son living in Saudi Arabia. He is very talented boy who loves math and science and also he is very much interested in drawing, painting and making crafts. Furthermore, he is very much passionate about animals, nature and the planet. With a view to give him some extracurricular activities, we enrolled him in PCA. From the day one after joining PCA, he has shown his enthusiasm to learn it and he really enjoys it. He is so obsessive about chess that we don’t need to remind him about the chess class and practice sessions, as we do for completing his academic assignments. We truly appreciate Ankush sir for his great support and guidance for improving Edwin’s confidence in chess and thereby fostering his skill. We pray and wish our son great success. “

4. Aaryan Sahu

“Aaryan is 8 years old and lives in the UAE. He is very passionate about chess. He wants to be a professional chess player. He attends all the practice sessions and weekend tournaments to improve his gameplay in chess. He also loved to play football and cricket. Within 3-4 months he has gained a lot of knowledge in chess. I am personally very glad and extremely pleased with his game and I am sure he will reach a great height in the field of chess. We are happy and thankful to Premier Chess Academy and his coach Mr. Atharva. “

5. Yaqub Rehman

“Yaqub Rehman is a Seven-Year-old boy. At this tender age, we witnessed his remarkable ability to learn chess from his grandfather, father and his brother. A few years later, we were overwhelmed to notice his progress when he challenged players of higher age in family matches and have also contested the same successfully. Seeing his voraciousness to learn more and to not limit his ability to just family matches, we have decided him to get professional assistance from PCA in improving his game further. With the guidance and support of the academy and especially his personal coach Mr. Baibav Mishra we see remarkable improvement in playing ability of Yaqub in just 2 months. We see PCA as his 1st stepping stone toward him becoming a successful chess player and we trust upon Yaqub that he shall in coming days will surely make our family and academy proud with his achievements. Thank you, Mr. Baibav Mishra and PCA for your endeavor and we look forward for your continuing support. “

“Yaqub is a very mature and talented kid in all aspects. At such a young age, his attitude of accepting failure and also trying to learn from them is praise-worthy. He is a sincere and disciplined kid who usually doesn’t miss out on any practice session. He is a very fast learner and extremely passionate about playing chess. His performance in classes, speed of solving the puzzle, and approach towards handling the problem are absolutely remarkable. Notably this month Yaqub also got selected for Stage two of the World Cup and has also crossed the lichess rating of 1300+. His Puzzle rating on lichess is 1594 and along with it what really amazes me is that so far he has solved 1211 puzzles. His performance in the practice session and consistency to stay in the top 5 is a remarkable achievement. As a coach, I feel quite privileged to have Yaqub as my student. 6. Daniel Thomas Paul

“Daniel is 12 years old, he loves to read books and loves playing board games. He also plays football and tennis and swims. Daniel has watched his father and brother play chess since a very young age. Even before joining PCA, he had played many chess matches with his family. Since he started classes, his chess skills have been steadily improving. Daniel is always strategizing in his chess and likes the game very much. As he learns more techniques to use, his lichess rating keeps on improving. “

7. Vedanth Nayak

“Vedanth is 13years old and lives in Oman. He is a curious boy always eager to learn & take up challenging tasks. While he loves to play badminton & table tennis he is crazy about math too. On one hand, he is a black belt in karate & at the same time loves to code. He got interested in chess when he casually played a game with his granduncle & from then it’s been a wonderful journey for him in chess .PCA and Coach Ms.Pavithra have been crucial in developing his focus, decision-making skills, patience in chess. “

8. Niyamat Nanda

“Niyamat Nanda is a 12 Years old Girl currently studying in Std 8 and living in UAE. She is a certified Black belt karate and a promising swimmer. She has a very keen interest in sports and has developed a liking for chess around five months back while playing against the daughter of a family friend. So, I decided to play along with her on a regular basis and came across the Premier chess academy on Facebook. I explored more about the academy and found that it’s a very good academy that teaches and nurtures talent. In the last three months with the academy, I have seen a tremendous growth in her skills and her interest has grown many folds and I can see the noticeable change in in-game results. Here I would also like to mention a special thanks to Mr. Piyush for teaching the nitty-gritty of the game and addressing her queries regarding the game in a commendable way. I believe he is a great coach who conducts his classes in a very friendly and accommodating way and advises his students according to their capabilities. With his help, I would like to see more achievements for my daughter. “

9. Jagannath Naveen

“Jagannath is a 9-year old, third-grader who comes from Kerala in India and lives in Dubai. Chess is his favourite game. During the Covid-19 lockdown a year ago, he began playing chess with his father and acquired a strong interest in the game. We then enrolled him in PCA. Since joining PCA, he has been regularly practicing chess and spent his free time practicing more games on his own without anyone telling him to do so. In PCA, he is being trained by Coach Pushkar Jadhav. He is very happy with his classes and he is learning and improving a lot under the guidance of the Coach. Thank you Coach and PCA. ”

10. Sravan Sreekumar

“Sravan Sreekumar is 8 years and a grade 3 student of Gulf Indian School, Kuwait. He has become passionate about Chess after joining Premier Chess Academy. Many thanks to Raunak sir, your commitment towards coaching is extremely admirable. Sravan says that he loves Chess because it is both fun and works his mind in challenging ways. 11. K Muhammad Ali Khan

“Muhammad is a 10yr old energetic kid. A sports enthusiast who loves playing cricket and soccer, an orange belt in Karate. He is sincere and works hard to achieve his goals, be it gaming or learning music he gives his 100%. His love for chess turned into passion during the pandemic and joining the PCA academy has been the best decision. His understanding and knowledge for the game has grown under the guidance of his coach Mr. Ravi Kant who he respects and admires. Looking forward to make this learning journey a story of success. “

12. Risha Jain

“Risha started developing interest just a year back and she started playing with me (father) and I managed to teach her only the basics but wasn’t able to teach her techniques and quick strategies as quickly as PCA tutor Mr. Rinku. At present, she is more focused on learning and playing chess. We deeply thank you PCA for igniting the interest in children to focus and concentrate not only in chess but in their learning cycle as well. I hope going further this interest will make them more independent in their choices and reach greater heights stage by stage towards success. “

13. Leonel Mathew

“Leonel Mathew is 12 years old and currently lives in Qatar. He had an interest in playing chess since he was 6. His interest in chess grew and finally he applied for PCA to sustain his ability, improve on it and overall be a good chess player. We would like to give a huge thanks to coach Ruturaj for his immense support to Leonel and teaching students in a way everyone understands and overall makes it easy to understand and always be in our minds. “Prasad is 8 years old boy living in Dubai. Prasad started to play chess with his friend online from May-Jun 2021. He tried to gain more knowledge about chess from google. Seeing his interest in chess we decided to start online learning classes. He started his class in Premier chess Academy in August 2021. “Aditya is a 12 year old living in Sharjah, UAE. Aditya had started playing chess since he was very small. He did not really learn much when he started. Then he started showing a devastating passion towards chess. So I thought I’d enroll him in PCA. He started just a few months ago in beginner level and is now an intermediate. 16. Arathanah Kumaresan

“Arathanah is seven years old, currently studying grade 3 in Stafford Sri Lankan School Doha, Qatar. Though she was very curious to learn Chess since her early childhood, she got an opportunity to learn it very recently, from March 2021 onwards. With the excellent guidance of Mr. Sushant, Arathanah has learned the game in a brief time, and it has significantly increased her self-confidence. We are pretty sure she will become a professional chess player soon with the help of PCA & Mr. Sushant. 17. Koustubh Sharma

“Koustubh Sharma is a 12-year-old child residing in Qatar. He has a love for many sports such as football, basketball, cricket, etc. He also likes reading storybooks, comics, and many other types of books. But the most interesting thing for him is chess. He always asks “can I play chess now?”. I am very happy with his performance and the way he has improved in his chess classes. After enrolling in Premier Chess Academy, he has improved immensely from my point of view. I really like how his teacher” Tushar Sharma” teaches him and I would really like it if he would improve more under his guidance. ”

“Koustubh is an exuberant kid! He evolved into the smartest kid in chess. He has surpassed my exception already and is beginning to think like a professional chess player. His games are informative and instructive and full of dynamic play. Tactical skills are magnificent and can play any type of position. Back then in the MCL tournament he performed tremendously well and assisted the team to win the tournament. Records keep tumbling when Koustubh plays the tournament. He continues his brilliant momentum in PCA World Cup Stage 1/2 he scored an unbeaten 5/5 to gain a sole lead and qualify for the Quarter Finals! 18. Siddarth Shobith

“Siddarth is a 7years old boy residing in Kuwait. He is a smart and curious boy interested in football, cricket, chess, dancing, and singing. Four months back during the lockdown, we thought of introducing him to chess to improve his concentration and reasoning skills. To our surprise, he started to build interest in the game and started to participate in tournaments eagerly. He started to gain interest in chess just because of his coach, Utkarsh, whose class he would never miss. He used to say that his ambition is to become a chess tutor like his Sir. 19. Namaey Garg

“Namaey is a 5-year-old and started playing chess at the age of 4 inspired by his brother. He picked up moves really fast and understood chess. After joining PCA, I see him progressing faster. Despite of being youngest in the class, he has progressed well and is often ranked one amongst others. He understands what he is doing. Special thanks to Kunal Sir, his current teacher and Uday Sir, his previous teacher who have kept his interest alive and motivate him to play better. Other than playing chess he loves dancing and mathematics. He is trying his hands on football as well. “

Selection Criteria – November 2021: 

  • Regular in class and practice sessions.
  • Displaying improvement in practices to reach top 3 positions.
  • Puzzle solving and tactics findings in regular class.
  • Generate quest in chess and regular in assignments.
  • Over all – Passion is evident in class, practices, puzzle solving etc.
