At Premier Chess Academy (PCA), our vision is to transform kids into the world of chess & support them along the transition. Each and every kid at PCA deserves a special appreciation but we have shortlisted (selection criteria below) the students. Here we go to recognize the stars of the month (November 2022) at Premier Chess Academy, India!

1. Viaan

Viaan is an eight-year-old boy studying in Grade4 in Pathways School Noida. He is a very dedicated and responsible child who always tries to finish his work on time. He is a cheerful and energetic kid who is extremely passionate about chess, and is always playing matches or practice problems in his leisure time. He thoroughly enjoys the social aspect and critical challenges of the game, and playing chess keeps him occupied for hours on end.”

2. Adrika R. Ram

Adrika. R. Ram is a 10 years old girl born on 30th may in Trivandrum. She is studying in 5th standard of The School of the Good Shepherd, Akkulam. She loves playing chess and writing poems. A few months before she saw her cousins playing chess. She learnt how to play chess a bit. This inspired her to learn more about chess. So she joined Premier Chess Academy. Her coach Abhishek Patil sir helped her to learn more about chess. Her skill of playing chess improved and are hoping to improve it further. “

3. Shreesh Thangaraj

Shreesh is an intelligent kid. Shreesh is 10 years old and he is studying in Class 5, BGS National Public school ,Bangalore. He grasps things very fast. He is an outstanding performer in academics. Shreesh is good at Chess, Dance & Football too. He joined PCA 5 months back and he improved a lot. Shreesh understands the theoretical concepts of Chess very well and try to relate them when he plays at home. We would like to thank Mr. Adarsh Sir for his continuous support provided to us. We would like to appreciate his patience and the way he deals with kids. This really helped him to reach till Chess Olympiad Semi-finals under Victorious Vishy Category 2. Looking forward to participating in more and more competitions and we are very confident that we would get that support. Kudos to PCA.”

4. Reyansh Agarwal

Reyansh is a 6-year-old boy studying in class 1 at Hindustan International School, Chennai. Like most chess enthusiasts, he likes math and is very good at it. He was introduced to chess by his mother when he was 5 and took an immediate liking to it. We have seen his game improve since he joined PCA under the guidance of his coach Mr. Ankush Bharadwaj. He is a level 4 abacus student too and has a very creative and inquisitive mind.- he can solve Rubik’s cube in about 2 mins time!! And it goes without saying – he loves watching videos on you tube. We hope to see him develop into a world class chess player.”

5. Geethasri

Geetha Sri is 8 years old and currently studying in V std. She started playing chess in Feb,2022. Thereafter, she is regularly practicing chess and learning the game strategies. She also participated in Open chess competitions both online and offline and also won prizes. Apart from chess she loves drawing and also participates in various events in her school. We are grateful to PCA, Omkar sir and Anshul sir for what she is today in chess. I Hope she reaches great heights in chess under your guidance.”

6. Vaibhav Majumdar

My son has been learning chess with Sir Baivab Mishra (PCA) for over a year now. In this time I have seen May ball the benefits of playing chess: how it helps improve concentration and memory, the strategy thinking, how it helps the children dealing with failure, the respect for others, resilience ….all that comes as a given with chess. What Sir Baivab does with chess is take it to another level, he can make a fighter for the future, he empowers the children and passes on the passion for the sport. As per me he is always there when my son feels demotivated and less enthusiastic. For me Sir Baivab gives my son ” chess as a tool for life. “

Vaibhav being only 14 years old, the maturity and talent he possesses is really unreal. At such a young age, his keenness to accept challenges and push his limits is really praise worthy. He is a very hard working, sincere and disciplined person who usually doesn’t miss out on any regular classes. As a mentor I observed that in the last few weeks Vaibhav has been regularly coming in top three of each and every Qualification round of PCA Olympiad. His performance in the classes, and his results in practice sessions are really remarkable. The way he has made progress in recent times gives proof that he is not only a quick learner but also someone who accepts failure in a positive way and tries to learn from it. He has also won many awards in offline events which makes him a worthy star kid of the month. He also has age on his side and I do believe with proper training and encouragement he will achieve a lot in future. As a coach I feel quite privileged to have Vaibhav as my student. 7. Sarthak Sharma

Sarthak Sharma is 8 years old and would be turning 9 on coming 2nd February. He is a student of grade 3 and studying in Billabong international high school. He loves to study math and play various games. His favorite game is chess which he always likes to play. As he was interested in chess so much, he joined Premier chess academy. Within a few weeks time, his game has improved a lot and all thanks to his mentor Girish Sir. He is a genius of this game and continuously guides all the kids to perform better. As parents, we look forward to this wonderful journey and wish Sarthak further develops his skills.”

8. Aaradhya Prasad

Aaradhya Prasad is a 6 year old girl from Kerala, studying in grade 1 at Amrita Public School.  She loves to play chess and is also interested in painting, dance and Karate. At the age of 5 she showed her interest in chess, after joining PCA she started playing chess and now enjoys and loves playing the game. Under the guidance of Kumar Raunak Sir she is improving more and more on a daily basis. Thanks to Kumar Raunak Sir for encouraging and supporting Aaradhya Prasad for her performance. “

9. Muhammed Shayaan

Muhammed Shayaan is a 11-year-old boy from Kerala studying in 6th grade at MES public school Orkattery. He started playing chess when he was 7 years old. As the age increases, his passion for that game grew more and more. He loves to play games like chess, dominoes, cricket, football, and badminton. This is the 2nd time he has won the star kid of the month at PCA. He likes to play chess tournaments and solve puzzles. He loves learning new moves and keep waiting for the class and daily practice sessions. He improved his game and learned tricks and techniques very fast. I am extremely grateful to Kunal Sir for such a golden opportunity in chess.”

10. Harinithin S

Harinithin is a 7 years old boy born in Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu, India. He is studying 3rd grade in school. In Initial stage of joining the class he had only a little bit of interest in chess, but now he is totally interested in playing chess. His sharpness and IQ level has improved a lot in chess and academics. His coach Mr. Narendiran guides him a lot. Thanks a lot to the PCA team for that even we people in remote areas can also be attached with kids from all over the world. 11. Harshitha Reddy Soma

Harshitha means happiness and she will be like that every time. Harshitha is 6 years old, studying grade 1 in St. Xaviers School, Bangalore. She has been playing chess for the past 5 months with Premier Chess Academy. She is passionate about playing chess. Whenever she gets free time, she used to play only chess. We never thought she would learn chess online this much easily. This all happened through Coach Nihal Mulla sir and PCA. We are thankful to Coach Nihal Mulla sir for his patience and dedication towards the kids and continuous encouragement for improving her game.”

12. Aniruddha Vinay

Aniruddha Vinay is 11 years old and is studying in class 5. He loves to explore all kinds of games. He enjoys playing badminton, super excited to do stem activities and puzzle. He is enthusiastic about playing chess as an indoor game. In recent times he started learning chess under the guidance of Prabhat Kumar Sir. He joined PCA around 2 months back and I have seen significant improvements in his skills after he started practicing”

13. Aaron Sebastain

At the Age of 8 Aaron Started to play Chess and he liked the game very much. Aaron wanted to beat his cousins then Aaron Started to beat his cousins. Then Aaron’s father saw his talent in chess. After Joining the Premier Chess Academy He has improved a lot. Rakesh Sir helped him to achieve many Championships such as School Sports Aaron Sebastian Sub Junior chess Champion & School youth festival, Sub district level winner in Hindi Elocution with First A grade (Nov 2022 )& participated in State Chess competition. 14. Abhirup Thakur

Abhirup is 10 years old. An old boy of 5th standard from India. He is from B.D.M International School in Kolkata. He is deeply involved in various outdoor and indoor sports like cricket, swimming and chess. He is also interested in singing and drawing. He started his first chess class at the age of 5 in 2018 in Kolkata. After being trained in different centers, during lockdown he joined PCA in 2020. Since then, he has learnt many tricks in chess from his coaches. He plays regular tournaments online, also in his school he used to take part in competitions in offline mode too. He enjoys chess but whenever he loses any match he becomes upset. He listens to all the classes and properly follows his coaches. He is obedient and studious. He loves to play on his own. 15. P Sai Jeshwik

P Sai Jeshwik , is 6 years old . He is studying 1 st standard in ISAM ,Muscat. He is a bright student in academics and always enthusiastic in solving puzzles and arithmetic problems. We identified his interest in chess when he was at the age of 4 . This was further enhanced after joining him in Premier chess academy 6 months back. His coach Raunak Gupta sir’s encouragement and  friendly attitude with him  made him learn chess with more interest. Hope under his guidance Jeshwik will achieve great heights.”

16. Amyra Dalal

Amyra Dalal currently lives in Dubai and is a student of class 6. She developed her interest for chess 2 years back and started playing chess with PCA. Amyra is also learning professional swimming and is already a good swimmer. Chess and Swimming are her main hobbies and she makes out time for these. She is also very good in studies and always been in top rankers in her school. She has been with coach Sarthak since the beginning and he helped her a lot in enhancing her skills, improving the game tactics and beguiling up patience while playing. 17. Jay Adityaa Rohatgi

Jay Adityaa Rohatgi, an eighth-grade student. Aside from chess, which he began about a year ago with Premier Chess Academy, He is also a writer. Wattpad is where he publishes his stories. His love of books inspired him to become a writer. Math is one of his favorite subjects, and he became interested in it after developing a habit of conducting calculations by hand. He enjoys badminton, swimming, and cycling. He used to be afraid of playing chess, but after entering the Academy, His dread turned into interest. His coach, Mohd Shahid, deserves credit for it. He knows he has a long way to go at chess, but every day he takes one step forward. He is waiting and working hard to earn; the best chess player prize at his school.”

18. Sanvi Srivatsava

Sanvi is 13 years old. She is passionate about chess and she started taking interest in chess when she was 10 years old. She is sincere in her studies and loves to solve puzzles. She is fond of painting. I have seen her improving chess playing skills after joining premier chess academy. “

20. Aarush

Aarush completed 9 years on 13 November 2022. He is a student of class 4th and studying at Daisy days international school Barmer he loves to play games. He has a liking for mathematics. He has a brother who is also his best friend and with whom he likes to spend most of his time. Chess is one of his passions. His love for chess began when he was 6-year-old and with the passing of years, he has grown more interested in the game. He loves to play badminton and cricket. This year he joined premier chess academy with Vaibhav Sharma as his mentor. With Vaibhav sir, he has been able to develop his moves and learn the game faster. After joining PCA he has improved his game tremendously. He also won district level chess tournament in Barmer Rajasthan. Aarush hopes to continue his love for the game and further develop his skill.”

Selection Criteria – November 2022: 

  • Regular in class and practice sessions.
  • Displaying improvement in practices to reach top 3 positions.
  • Puzzle solving and tactics findings in regular class.
  • Generate quest in chess and regular in assignments.
  • Over all – Passion is evident in class, practices, puzzle solving etc.
