At Premier Chess Academy (PCA), our vision is to transform kids into the world of chess & support them along the transition. Each and every kid at PCA deserves a special appreciation but we have shortlisted (selection criteria below) the students. 1. Ashwin Gurusankar

“Ashwin is a 12-year-old 7th grader. He is a very active and fun-loving boy. He briefly learned chess during his 2nd and 3rd grade then started learning again from the last few months. He is quite involved in the games during his classes and practice sessions and absolutely enjoys playing chess. Ashwin and us thank his coach, Mr. Kunal Kumar, for his efforts to teach him the critical techniques to improve his game vastly. Besides playing chess, Ashwin likes playing soccer, swimming and video games and enjoys outdoor activities.”

2. Sarvagna Teja Mandava.

“Sarvagna is 9 years old and lives in Woonsocket RI, USA. He is studying 4th grade.He enjoys playing chess and likes solving puzzles.He is very active, hard working, and helps students in studies and helps in physical activities like capture the flag, soccer etc. His hobbies are playing tennis, reading books, listening to music, watching TV and playing video games. We thought chess is the right game for improving focus,  analytical, and strategic skills. We were very impressed after talking to Mr.Rajat, PCA, so we decided to enroll Sarvagna for chess classes. We are happy that he improved his focusing level, and is enjoying his work. Thanks to his coach Mr.Rajat for motivating him.”

3. Skanda Sathish

“Skanda is a 6-year-old first grader. He showed interest in watching chess games on YouTube and attended an after-school chess class in kindergarten. After joining PCA, he has shown a lot of improvement in his thinking and strategy and is more confident during tournaments. He recently started playing USCF tournaments and is having fun. His coach Sarthak Dutta is very helpful in helping to rectify his mistakes and encouraging him to play better.”

4.Shreyaansh Purohit

“Shreyaansh is a 10 year old, fifth grader who lives in Philadelphia ,PA. Starting with video games for chess, he immersed himself into chess with all encouragement from his coach Ramendra and other coaches from Premiere chess Academy. He enjoys Python, swift coding and takes interest in all new electronics products to market . In his free time, he watches Disney and Netflix shows for kids . He loves to swim and enjoys mathematics/science.”

5. Aaryan Patel

“Aaryan Patel is a 12-year-old, currently living in Woodbridge, Virginia. Aaryan started playing chess with his father a couple of years ago. After losing 100s of chess games, he did win against his father. This is the picture from that day. We enrolled him in Premier Chess Academy to get a structured knowledge on formulating & implementing chess strategies which in turn will teach him much needed skills for real life problems. Besides Chess, Aaryan plays Baseball in the senior league and will try for his Middle school baseball for the coming spring season. He loves machines and robotics. Someday he will love to work for Tesla. “

6. Aadvik Sivaprakash

“Aadvik is 12 years old, and loves to play chess. Aadvik tries to play chess as much as he can, and can often be found online on lichess. The thing that aadvik enjoys the most about chess is the middlegame phase and loves trying to find some way to counter an opponent’s attacks and learning from 1 year and gaining rapid rating on lichess. He has been helped a lot by PCA and would like to thank his coach Aakash Tiwari and teammates for helping him gain a better understanding of the game and learn a great amount of strategies. Aadvik loves to play Queen’s gambit with white.”

7. Tanay Kurre

“Tanay is 13 years old, and he started playing chess when he was very young. He always likes to accept challenges and come up with different solutions for them. I am very glad that I enrolled my son in this class, as his interest in chess has skyrocketed. He started playing hundreds of games a month because of the addition of time and its effect on chess. Overall, he has started to master the basic foundations of chess, and he is now starting to understand advanced principles of chess. He always talks about openings and their strengths, and he often knows his opponents’ moves before they do. He talks about a “Scotch Opening” or a “Caro-Kann Defense” and it amazes me. He has also grown significantly during a month of training. (700 rating more than first started).”

“Tanay is a wonderkid. In my coaching experience I never saw anyone exponentially improving like this in a month. In September alone he played more than 1500+ games online on chess. He’s so much interested in chess I’m pretty sure he’s gonna be a professional player someday. Someone might wonder how anyone can learn so much in a month. And the answer is simple- HARD WORK. 8. Aditya Sai Reddy Bollampally

Aditya is 7th Grade student who loves to play soccer and cricket. He loves chess and other outdoor games and activities. He is a very hard working kid, he never let me remind him to complete the school assignments rather he is the most punctual while submitting the assignments. We introduced chess to him a few months before and now it is a favorite game to him. We appreciate coach Narendiran and the PCA community for helping Aditya go above and beyond his limits.

9. Saumitra Prasad Muley

“Saumitra is a fourth grader and lives in Hopkinton Massachusetts. His passion is to build things from scratch. One of his favorite hobbies is realizing his own ideas using Legos as well as building structures in Minecraft. He is also interested in physics and wants to pursue a career in energy generation. He likes to play chess. From the time he was introduced to the Premier Chess Academy, he made huge progress. He absolutely loves his teacher and keeps waiting for the class and daily practice sessions. His goal is to start playing for his school and he is looking forward to learning more to do so.”

10. Varun Vasanth

“Varun Vasanth is 7 years old and is in second grade. He has been playing chess from age 4. Varun has been with the Premier Chess Academy with Coach Ayush for a few months and we have seen remarkable improvement in his Lichess rating during that time. Varun’s other interests are music, math, soccer and Minecraft. He is a happy-go-lucky kid enjoying his life now.”

11.Tanisi Chowdhury

“Hi ! My name is Tanisi Chowdhury. I live in Canada with my parents, my cute little sister Neyva and my grandma. I am 9 year old and I study in Grade 5. I love playing chess with my family and friends. I am grateful to my coach Mr.Baivab Mishra for teaching me Chess. I love challenges and I try to learn from my mistakes. I believe that one should never give up and try until he/she succeeds. I also believe that practice makes us perfect. Other than Chess, I love drawing, writing, singing and dancing in my free time.Currently, I am also learning Martial Arts and Gymnastics and I am thoroughly enjoying it.”

12. Prayakshya Avadootha

“Prayakshya is in Fourth grade. She loves playing chess. After she joined the PCA, she learnt a lot of chess strategies and tactics, which improved her concentration and memory. She likes to draw, paint and do lots of arts and crafts. Usually, she spends time with family, and loves playing with her little sister, Pratyaksha. Prayakshya made 30 bracelets all on her own. Our special thanks to her coach, Bhaskar sir for teaching special tactics, and his continuous support and encouragement. “

“Sanjay is a 6th grader from Arkansas, USA with roots in Kerala, India. He is a well rounded enthusiastic kid who, apart from chess, is super passionate and trains for gymnastics, tennis, Indian classical music, Indian classical violin and western flute. Soccer and swimming are his favorites as well. He loves to play chess as well as train his 6 year old younger sister Sanjana.”

“Vikash is a 10 years old kid who is living in California. We were looking for some indoor activities for improving concentration and problem-solving skills and came across PCA. Vikash has developed a great interest in chess that he eagerly waits for classes and practice sessions. He enjoys all practice sessions and weekend tournaments. 15. Srinika Janardhanan

“Srinika is a 6 years old 1st grader. She is a very loving and friendly kid. She was interested in chess at age of 3 and learnt to quickly arrange the board herself. She got enrolled in PCA from Apr 2021 and totally loved the experience from each class. She is always interested in solving puzzles, learning new tactics. She proudly talks to her friends about chess and we as a parent could notice the positivity reflecting in her game. Beside chess, she is interested in Art, Sudoku and Reading books. She did complete reading 1000 books before Kindergarten. We are very thankful to her coach Darpan and Vivek in making her chess learning smooth and entertaining.”

“Contrary to the popular belief that children don’t think well enough before making a move, Srinika keeps her cool at all times and takes her time to think properly before making a move. “Bhavye is a 7th Grader and lives in Burbank, California. He started learning chess almost a year ago under Rinku Sir mentorship and is enjoying it well. Apart from chess, his interests include reading books, learning Astronomy, energy and related topics. Loves to play Minecraft in his free time. 18. Nived Praveen

“Nived is a 3rd grader from Plano, Texas. He is a fun-loving and smart boy. He enjoys learning math and Piano. Nived likes to ride his bike, play soccer and board games with his friends and family. He loves to play in the snow and traveling to ski slopes. PCA renewed his interest in chess, improved his focus and strategy in the game. “Parth is an 11 years old kid and is in 6th grade. He is very passionate about chess. I used to win every time before he joined chess class. I am so happy and delighted that I can no longer defeat him in chess, and he is going above and beyond in terms of dedication and zeal to succeed. “Iana is 9 years old and in the fourth grade. She likes singing, painting, reading, writing and playing with her little brother. She is a very eager learner and has always been enthusiastic to learn new things. Her classes at PCA were her first exposure to chess. Over the last couple of months, she has grown to love chess. She likes learning new moves and spends time every day playing tournaments and puzzles. Her coach Rakesh Nayak has been an amazing mentor. We appreciate his encouragement and his belief in Iana’s capabilities. “
