9. Devansh kavle

Devansh is an 8 years old kid studying in year 3 at Doha English Speaking School. His journey at Chess started during lockdown time. The parents were concerned about engaging the kids in some activity. For the first few months, his performance was ok. But eventually, he gains interest due to his buddy Coach Tushar. His analytical,  reasoning and listening skills have improved a lot since then. There was a transformation in his confidence. As lockdown rules were loosened up and other activities were in boom I asked him to let’s stop your chess class as it’s too much for you to do PE at school, football class, and chess class all in one day. But he said “NO” I don’t want to stop it. Earlier he used to give me reasons for not attending classes. All because of Coach Tushar and the PCA team who were always helpful. Engaging a kid and making them concentrate is a big task, especially for a 5-year-old boy. The coach was successful in doing so. We have been family members of PCA for almost 2 years now. I can see my kid is growing and learning with them .”

He enjoys checkmate with a queen the most In the beginning, he enjoyed playing chess every single second and even today, after 2 years, he retains the same interest. It gives him great joy when he captures a free pawn, catches someone with his traps, or achieves a checkmate. It is obvious that he is becoming more confident and gaining more self-confidence. I wish him a very bright future..”
