At Premier Chess Academy (PCA), our vision is to transform kids into the world of chess & support them along the transition. Each and every kid at PCA deserves a special appreciation but we have shortlisted (selection criteria below) the students. Here we go to recognize the stars of the month (October 2023) at Premier Chess Academy, North America(Canada & USA)!

1. Abhiram Nelluri

” ABHIRAM NELLURI is 10 years old and is in 5th grade. He other interests are playing soccer, drawing and talking with people. He is very interested to learn new things in the chess. After every chess class he use to play with his father and apply the techniques he learned in the class. He always explores a new technique in chess from YouTube channels and tries to implement those techniques. Thanks for this coach Sahil for wonderful teaching skills and support. ”

2. Dev

Dev is a 10-year-old boy who loves to play chess. His coach, Rakesh, does an excellent job of teaching him the game, and Dev’s concentration has improved significantly since he started playing. In addition to chess, Dev also enjoys basketball, skating, biking, and playing the piano.

“Dev is a young talented, hardworking and enthusiastic kid who pursues to keep on improving himself. He too has a very good learning ability, which enables him to grasp new concepts and ideas very quickly.  He always gets actively involved in the class activities with full focus.  He too shows great enthusiasm toward chess and mostly loves learning in classes along with playing with his fellow classmates. Dev’s parents are also very positive toward chess. I am very much happy with the improvement of Dev and I too wish him a very bright future toward chess and in real life.”

3. Rudra Shekhar

Rudra is a 7-year-old second grader from Austin, Texas. Whether on the playground, in the classroom, or at home, Rudra is a bundle of energy and enthusiasm. He holds a green belt in Taekwondo. He is an adorable, funny and naughty boy who loves solving Chess, Math, Legos and Rubik’s cube puzzles. He loves playing with his friends and biking around the community. He approaches challenges with a fearless spirit, and his compassionate nature extends to helping others through small acts of kindness. He loves exploring Atlas and loves to read about planets and the universe. He is also passionate about reading Dog Man, Big Nate, Cat Kid and Amar Chitra Katha book series.  Special thanks to his Chess coach Ms. Prakriti for her continuous guidance and motivation. We want to take a moment to express our gratitude for the incredible coaching experience Rudra is having under her guidance. Her expertise and jolly nature has truly transformed his understanding and enjoyment of the game of chess. “

Rudra is an extremely dynamic and brilliant kid who loves tackling puzzles and messing around. He is an exceptionally quick student and incredibly enthusiastic about playing chess. He never misses any class and overhauls the shown subjects appropriately. He is extremely certain and attempts to clear his questions pleasantly. He keeps a cordial mentality towards his companions because of which he is respected by all. His exhibition in classes and speed of tackling the puzzles are admirable.

4. Musa Hassan

” Musa holds a deep passion for both chess and soccer, though his dedication to each varies. While he approaches soccer with a serious and competitive mindset, in the realm of chess, he adopts a more laid-back attitude. It’s this fearlessness in his chess games, where he isn’t afraid to attack, that he considers a crucial secret to his continuous improvement. Musa expresses his gratitude to Sir Kunal Kumar for his role in making the learning process enjoyable and engaging. “

5. Akshaj Goyal

” Akshaj Goyal is a 5-year-old, 1st grader from Toronto, Canada. His inclination towards chess began at home playing with his parents. Apart from chess, he enjoys swimming and karate. He loves running and playing outdoors with his friends, biking around and playing with his Lego blocks. At school, math is his favorite subject and he has fun solving puzzles. He joined Premier Chess Academy 4 months ago in July and with coach Hemant’s guidance, he has developed an even greater interest towards his chess classes, practice sessions and tournaments. Special thanks to coach – Hemant for his constant guidance and motivation to Akshaj as he grows and learns further in his chess journey. “

6. Rayansh Oruganti

” Rayansh Oruganti is in 2nd grade and lives in Houston, Texas. He started playing chess a year ago with his parents and on online sites. He joined Premier Chess Academy in Aug 2023 and improved his game tremendously in a brief period, he looks forward to his chess class and his practice sessions. His other interests are tennis, piano and gymnastics. He uses his screen time now to play chess online. Thanks a lot, to coach Ayush, who is very patient with kids, making the class fun and interactive. We are glad to have discovered Premier Chess Academy for Rayansh’s chess training and look forward to playing many more tournaments with PCA teams and local teams as well. “

Rayansh is a keen learner and is very passionate while playing chess. Rayansh is a good learner who tries to grasp all the topics which are covered in the class with full dedication and then tries to implement them in his practice sessions games. Along with playing Rayansh’s involvement in discussion is great as well. Rayansh’s active participation in practice sessions and weekly tournaments, coupled with his strong commitment to learning from his mistakes, truly sets him apart. Rayansh has now built a good understanding of the game and is definitely one to be watched for in future. My best wishes are always with Rayansh. 7. Mahith

” Mahith is a kind, humble and obedient 9 year old kid from Seattle Washington. He is in 4th grade and loves to play badminton , chess and can engage in these sports tirelessly. We joined PCA noticing his curiosity towards chess .He is always eager to play chess with his friends and enthusiastic towards his classes. Thanks to the coach for making the classes very interesting and not letting the kids withdraw their attention throughout the class. ”

8. Aadhavan Mugilan

” Aadhavan is 8 years old and in 3rd grade. He started to play chess last year with his cousin’s brothers. Last Christmas, he played with one of our family friends who is a chess player at the university level and she said his moves are very fast and impressive. He joined the premier chess academy a few months before. Due to the immense interest in chess he always used to be very active and engaged in every chess session and even if he continuously played chess for more than 3 hours he won’t get tired or bored. Our special thanks to coach Abinandan Ganguly for the support and care that motivated him a lot. “

” Aadhavan is a prodigy! In such a short amount of time, the way he’s been grasping concepts and winning one game after another really makes me feel confident about him as a chess player. Selection Criteria – October 2023: 

  • Regular in class and practice sessions.
  • Displaying improvement in practices to reach top 3 positions.
  • Puzzle solving and tactics findings in regular class.
  • Generate quest in chess and regular in assignments.
  • Over all – Passion is evident in class, practices, puzzle solving etc.
