At Premier Chess Academy (PCA), our vision is to transform kids into the world of chess & support them along the transition. Each and every kid at PCA deserves a special appreciation but we have shortlisted (selection criteria below) the students. Friendly advise, “for student’s those who didn’t make it through – you will make it one day and for those who are the stars of the month – continue the practice as your bar goes up”.

1. Kovidh Arora

” Kovidh is a soft spoken brainy kid living in Mohali. He loves to read books. He has a great interest in math and science. He readily grasps new concepts and ideas. He is very curious about learning new facts. Kovidh’s KBC is always on at our home. He loves to solve puzzles. As we didn’t know earlier, chess has the power to make people happy. This happiness we see on Kovidh’s face when he attends chess classes. He Enjoys every moment of class. Thanks to Akash Tiwari sir, his coach, your dedication and love for chess shows in teaching skills. It is because your 1 hour class feels like 10 minutes to Kovidh. ”

2. Tanvi Admankar

” Tanvi is a bright child. She loves reading fantasy books like Harry Potter, Percy Jackson..etc. She is also very fascinated about knowing galaxy and earth science. In future she wants to be a gemologist. She loves playing with her friends and recently she also joined dance classes. After joining the chess classes one more skill added to her personality. Now she loves playing chess. We believe that because of chess ,her way of thinking is going to be more logical way. We are very happy to see her growth. ”

3. Siddharth Singh

” Siddharth is a chess enthusiast who can play and practice chess for hours. He loves challenges and is very quick when it comes to solving puzzles. He is quick in grasping up new things. His favorite game format is blitz. Apart from chess he enjoys cycling and reading detective novels. He loves competition and regularly tries to participate in various tournaments in and out of academy. All this is the result of his hard work and great mentoring from all his coaches and I am glad that he is part of Premier Chess Academy. ”

4. Vaishnavi Vuppalavanchu

” Vaishnavi is a 12  year old kid studying in class 7. She is an active and bright child in academics. She started playing chess when she was 6 years old. Her favourite subjects are Science & English. Seeing her interest in playing chess we joined her on this platform. She is very happy to be here. Her other hobbies are dancing and solving rubik’s cubes. We are thankful to her coach Bhaskar sir for teaching her the best. Thank you very much sir for the guidance, encouragement and motivation at every point. ”

5. Shraddha.B

” Introducing Shraddha, a curious and enthusiastic child who is doing her fifth grade in Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan Senior Secondary School , Chennai Siruseri. An avid reader, Shraddha reads history and is always fascinated with dynasties and their strategies. Her other interests lie in exploring the world of science and space and in performing experiments. She has demonstrated a lot of concepts in school and has won accolades. She has won numerous SOF Olympiad and Spell Bee awards. She fills her time with practicing guitar and singing both classical and western songs. Loves learning languages and has a special interest towards Sanskrit. She is a regular contestant at the Bhagavad Geeta competitions conducted every year. Naturally, she was drawn to the world of chess and now spends more quality time in practice. The fabulous motivation and training received from her coach Harshita Ma’am and PCA chess academy has made Shraddha push her boundaries and reach where she is today. Shraddha believes in hard work, determination and perseverance and wishes to contribute to the larger society. ”

6. Vedatman Manish Chavan

” Vedatman Manish Chavan is a 9-year-old kid who is an enthusiastic chess player. He has always loved playing chess. With the help and guidance of coach Kumar as Vedatman is improving his chess playing skills he is also improving his concentration, learning ability and also his communication skills…due to chess he is getting better in his studies as well. ”

7. Godena Nithyasree

” Nithyashree is 13 years old and studying 9th standard. She lives in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh. Nithyasree is an NCC cadet and she plays shuttle. After seeing her interest in chess, we selected PCA and she’s learning chess well. Nithyashree’s favourite subject is mathematics, she is very happy by selecting this academy. We are thankful to her coach Narendiran sir for making her efficient with all concepts. She is regularly playing practice sessions and tournaments. She is applying the concepts which she learnt during the coaching. Coach Narendiran sir is providing regular motivation and encouraging her to learn chess very fast. Looking forward to Nithyashree for more achievements and challenges in future. ”

8. Aarush Yarlagadda

” Aarush is 10 years old, studying in Grade 5 and lives in Hyderabad, India. We enrolled Aarush in chess classes during the beginning of the pandemic to keep him engaged at home. What started as a fun hobby quickly turned into a passion. As a fun hobby quickly, we are happy that he has started enjoying chess and also improving his game by watching YouTube videos etc. He started randomly playing chess, but as he Started learning chess from his coach Pushkar Jadhav his game started improving. He learns different strategies and tries his best to stay in the game. He enjoys his classes a lot. Thank You PCA!! ”

9. Aarav Menon

” Aarav Menon is a IVth standard student at Modern School Vasant Vihar. He was introduced to the game of chess about two years back and he took a liking to the game. He joined the Premier Chess Academy in Jun 2021. He enjoys his online classes a lot. He really likes the way his teachers interact with the kids and teach them the various aspects of the game. The practice sessions have helped him a lot in improving his game. Apart from chess, he loves to play guitar and read. ”

10. Suhas Kota 

” Suhas is studying 4th Standard and based out of Bangalore. Suhas is a very active kid from the beginning. He enjoys playing all sorts of sports and activities with his friends. He loves dancing. He likes to make art crafts with his mother’s help. He is quite good at studies as well. During these pandemic times, we joined him in the premier chess academy. He started to excel here too and beat his cousins who are much older to him. ”

11. Alok Prasad

” Alok Prasad is a 11 year old kid studying in class 6 and lives in Kerala. He loves to play chess and is also interested in playing Guitar and Karate. During Covid when everything was shut he was bored at home and the only source of entertainment was Tv. At that time he joined PCA, which was the best decision we had made. He slowly developed interest in playing chess and now enjoys and loves playing the game. Under the guidance of Ramendra Ranjan Sir he is improving more and more on a daily basis. Thanks to Ramendra Ranjan Sir for encouraging and supporting Alok Prasad for his performance. ”

12. Avyaan Singh

” Avyaan is a 6-year-old 1st grader. He is an enthusiastic and cheerful boy. He attended a chess demo at Premier Chess Academy in the month of August last year, liked it and is enjoying chess now. Avyaan is grateful to his coach, Mr.Ravikant Tiwari for his efforts and dedication to teach him the strategies and tactics. Ravikant Sir keeps examining his matches to make him learn from his mistakes thus making him more confident. Besides playing chess, Avyaan loves reading and exploring new things.”

” Anvi is an intelligent girl. She is a student of class fifth in DPS, Gurgaon. She actively participates in all her academic and co-curricular activities. She is a keen learner. She is very fond of coding; she is learning Artificial Intelligence. She also likes sketching. Her favorite activity is playing chess. She got a very good learning platform for chess in PCA. Rinku Sir is her coach in chess. He motivates her to play her best. She aims at making her rating of Rapid on lichess 1800+. ”

14. Neturiya Sathish

” Neturiya is a 11-year-old, studying class Vl, living in Chennai. She is a very active multi talented child with more interest in swimming, art and traveling. She is a pet lover and also a big Harry Potter fan. She got interested in chess through her Grandfather, that is when we came across PCA and She is trained by a very energetic and lovable tutor Shahid sir. Sir’s encouragement and guidance has got her here. Now chess becomes a part of her daily activity as she is enjoying and becoming more confident. 15. Rohitakshay Sathyanarayana

” Rohit is a 7 year old boy who lives in Massachusetts. He is a very lively and fun loving kid who is passionate about playing soccer, chess, keyboard and he is also good at solving cubes. He is crazy about science experiments and math puzzles. During covid one of our friends gifted him chess board for his birthday and to our surprise he started learning all the basic moves by watching youtube channel and that’s when we decided to enroll him and so far he seems to be very happy playing chess and thanks to chess coach Mr. Soumyajit for keeping him motivated and guiding him in the right direction. ”

16. Aadya Ghate

” Aadya is 11 years old and lives in Chennai. She gained interest in chess by playing with her uncle so we enrolled her in Premiere Chess Academy. She started learning chess from Coach Vaibhav sir. Because of his simple teaching techniques she has learnt the fundamentals of chess very quickly. Now she plays more games to improve. She has now made a goal to reduce the number of blunders. ” Anay is a very naughty boy. He loves to be among friends. He wants to become a doctor. He has so many big dreams and he has the capability to fulfil them. He likes to play cricket, flying kites, solving different kinds of Rubik’s cubes, playing guitar etc. The best thing with him is that along with having interest in extracurricular activities he is good in studies too. Overall, he is a loving child. After joining online chess class, he loves to play chess and I am happy to see his progress. ”

18. Arnav Singh

” Arnav is a 9-year-old kid studying in Class IV and lives in New Delhi. His favorite subjects are Math and Science. He has logical skills and an interest in playing chess. He has joined PCA, which was the best decision he has ever made. His grandparents are good at chess and he motivated him to play chess. He is very happy to be associated with PCA. His other interests include cricket and cycling. We are thankful to his coach Tushar Sir, for making him thorough with all the concepts. Arnav enjoys every element of the game, be it learning, practice sessions, and all the new strategies that the coach introduces. 19. Seshasai Sriram Garimella

” Sriram is a nine years old boy who lives in Hyderabad, India. He is studying 4th grade in the Delhi Public School. Sriram is very passionate about chess and enrolled in Premier Chess Academy (PCA) last year. He regularly attends chess classes and practices the game during his free time, and also he frequently plays chess with his cousin brother, who lives in New Jersey, USA. His other hobbies are drawing, playing badminton, skating and cricket. He is an obedient student, and his favorite subject is mathematics. He had participated in inter-school sports meet and community annual sports meet and won medals in both the events. His favorite food is pizza and noodles. During his free time, spending time with his brother, cousin sister and his friends. PCA is an excellent online chess learning platform, and Sriram thoroughly enjoys learning chess. Selection Criteria – January 2022: 

  • Regular in class and practice sessions.
  • Displaying improvement in practices to reach top 3 positions.
  • Puzzle solving and tactics findings in regular class.
  • Generate quest in chess and regular in assignments.
  • Over all – Passion is evident in class, practices, puzzle solving etc.
